In the heart of the Ahwatukee foothills, we offer fine Italian cuisine, drinks, & live music. Come by for a casual family dinner or date night. We pride ourselves in having a high quality scratch kitchen, where nothing is pre-made. All of our ingredients are fresh & delicious! This means we can make your meal anyway you want it. We also offer vegetarian & gluten free options.

Va Bene can accommodate large parties & private groups. For parties larger than 8 please contact us directly at (480) 706-4070. A large private dining room is available for groups & special events - perfect for corporate events, wedding receptions, company holiday parties, or business dinners. We offer fine dining, breathtaking views, & an intimate experience. We offer the Happy Hours daily along with live weekend music every Fri & Sat starting at 9pm. A granite top bar sets a warm, sophisticated, & embracing atmosphere to enjoy your favorite martini, cocktail, beer, or wine. We offer a variety of cuisine including pasta, steak, chicken & seafood dishes. Our bar is fully stocked with a wide selection of beer, spirits (especially vodka), & wines. We feature more than 90 carefully selected wines from all over the world.

Food was really bland even though the atmosphere was nice. These other reviewers raving about the food clearly either haven't had good Italian or are already half crocked from the drinks/wine. For the prices of these meals $19-$25, I'd expect a lot better service and quality of food. You can whip up a spaghetti/alfredo sauce more flavorful with a jar of Rao's and feed the family for a third of the price. Side note: Our friend got iced tea and it tasted really off which was concerning. Tasted like cleaner.
Went here last night. Band was great, so were the drinks. The food, on the other hand....had zero flavor. We ordered the marsala chicken and chicken with artichoke dishes. There was no seasoning, not even salt and pepper. It resembled hospital buffet food. I would return but only to drink and listen to the live music.Food: 1/5
I have eaten here a few times, but it had been a while. I ate here again 2 nights ago and was reminded just how amazing the food is. I got the gnocchi in vodka sauce and it was just incredible I also added chicken. I'm glad I ate here again and will try to return sooner than the last time!Food: 5/5
Great time last night. It appears it has been 2 years since I have been there for dinner and dancing and I have to say the food and service were FANTASTIC! Much improved over my last visit and it didn't hurt that the band was great. It was a great time. My review from 2 years ago starts here: Had a nice dinner. Food was great. Service was okay. Got up and filled my own water, as the waiter brought the bill and didn't fill my empty glass. Service was mediocre the entire time. After dinner went to the bar and enjoyed the live music.
I’ve been hearing good things about this place for a couple of years, and my friend and I decided to try it this evening via takeout. We were both really disappointed by the lack of flavor we ordered fettuccine with chicken and shrimp, and gnocchi/chicken with vodka sauce as both dishes seem completely unseasoned. Additionally, my portion of food the gnocchi was a pretty meager serving for $20. I don’t know if it was an off night but what we had has made me reluctant to want to try again. Edit: Seeing the response from the restaurant, I’ll acknowledge that they refunded my meal, however, that does not negate the fact that the food still completely lacked any flavor or seasoning…
Straight to it with no fluffy words, it was a nice place and the service was good, but the food ended up being mediocre and was too expensive for serving that quality. Which is really a shame because it isn't easy to compete in such a saturated market. Either way, we tried their mussels red, and both specials, fish and steak. The food was flavorless, and it cost about $100. Better off going to an Italian deli. Sorry.
We picked Va Bene by chance. We were looking for a place to hole up till the traffic settled down. We chose wisely. The food was excellent. I believe I had the Penne Siciliana which was not a disappointment, it being very delightful in flavor. All of the ingredients to this from-scratch-meal, I like. I had hoped it would not disappoint. It did not. My wife was also very pleased with her selection. I apologize for not being exact in my words. We very much enjoyed Va Bene and we will be back. Regards . . .
Great atmosphere, great music, nice adult crowd. Food was a good portion and tasted ok. Drinks were ok, Some cosmetics that could be taken care of in the bathrooms and dining room but customer service was nice as well.
Delicious escargot wrapped in pastry dough...sauce was amazingly delicious too! Yum! The Chicken pizza was yummy too! "Outside the Line" band playing..dancing was great! very fun night out.
We loved our dinner experience last night. The service was amazing, bread is nice and warm and the wine we ordered was fresh and a good half glass. We both ordered pastas and they did not disappoint. Large portions of hearty goodness. Greatly seasoned and not over cooked. Our first time here and we will be back many times in the future.
