The VA has taken care of my husband for years. The service and dedication he's received has been outstanding. He's received better care then hr would have received from non Va Doctors and facilities.
I just want to thank everyone at this hospital for the outstanding care That I received. Came in with a serious infection in my leg and they put me on IV antibiotics and turned it around. I am from Maine and I went to local civilian hospitals and they did nothing for me even though the infection was spreading. I then went to the VA hospital in West Roxbury and a team of doctors worked on me to get me better. U want to thank Dr. Kamal and Dr. Kwan for their professional handling. From the doctors, nurses to the food services people, to the maintenance workers. All pleasant and professional. Thank you all.
I was recently in the Hospital at Roxbury and frankly, every nurse, staff member worked tirelessly and compassionately to make my stay memorable. The people who work here are truly committed and exemplary.
Had surgery here last month. The nurses, surgeon, anesthesiologists, etc were so incredibly nice and caring. I’d happily go back should the need arise.
I entered the VA system to have a knee replaced. Everyone from check in to check out was just unbelievable. They teated me like a family member. Due to availability of beds and some apnea problems on my end I ended up in the SICU Unit. I just can't say enough about the care I received. It's hard to say good and you never get a chance because of different shifts etc...I truly appreciate what they did for me. They are the best.
Went in for LVC pain per my primary care Dr. Was there for 5 hrs, never offered a sip of water or a snack. Totally ignored for 2 hours so I got dressed and went to leave. Nurse on duty Kristen was rude and heartless. I called the # on the flyer stating if you have an issue with the ER. Never got a call back. VA Dr lied and pushed me off to the ER who would not help either. Poorly run by a heartless team. They seem to forget they are employed to help veterans.
Went here fasting for tests on 11/18. Finished everything around 11:00 a.m. and I was very hungry so I went immediately to the cafeteria. When I got in line people were grumbling that there was no food. I quickly learned that the only thing the cafeteria was serving were chicken nuggets, chicken sandwiches or grilled cheese. They also had onion rings and fries but that was about it. Heck, they even ran out of certain types of bread. At 11:00 a.m? I asked for a cheeseburger and the guy said it wasn't available. Seriously?? Someone needs to lose their job!!! Veterans at a hospital this size deserve to be able to eat. I gave 2 stars because my doctors/med team etc deserve a perfect 5. VA director and administrators please step up and do something. This experience was absolutely dreadful and should never have happened. If the VA can't provide a decent food service then please revamp the system. Maybe it's time to outsource- privatize.
My husband was admitted for a very badly infected cut on his hand. While he was in the hospital for six days, he had last few days very, very high blood pressure and they were not to concerned. Was not pleased on how they handled his meds that he is on at home from the VA. It wasn't a good experience for both of us.
I was just discharged from the hospital yesterday. I was in Ward 1A. I just wanted to commend the entire staff on their professionalism. They truly are a credit to the VA.
Currently in a waiting room. Arrived here with my Dad an hour ago and he has already has completed 5 different stops in the hospital for testing. So organized. Each step of the way we have encountered wonderful staff members!
