My husband spent 9 days here following a ski accident. The trauma of the accident was nothing compared to that caused at this hospital. He could not sit or stand but was ordered to get into a wheelchair, despite excruciating pain caused by an - at that time - undiagnosed injury. He was immobile but was not offered any personal hygiene for two days because ‘we didn’t ask for it’. Some nurses were so lacking in compassion that I doubt they should be in such a role. My husband only saw an orthopaedic specialist dr after 8 days and only because we insisted. There was little infection control. Nurses wore numerous rings and cloth ‘friendship’ bracelets. And, to cap it all, the refurbed room had no working phone, TV or bedside light. Appalling.
Greta was my care tech & Amy was my nurse for part of the time I was recovering from my PAO hip surgery in Vail Health. I wanted to mention both of these ladies because they were very kind, patient, and understanding with me. They always made sure I was comfortable even when things got rough & they made my stay a lot less stressful. I don’t always have good things to say about this hospital especially the ER department and I rarely write reviews, but these two workers made a big difference in the comfort of my recovery. Thanks ladies!
Mary the RN was the nicest and most caring nurse I've ever encountered in a hospital. Nancy the patient-pal was also very kind and was so sweet to stay later than her shift was scheduled to ensure that we were well taken care of. My pop ended up in the ER here after a hard crash skiing and the very terrible experience was made as smooth and enjoyable as possible by the lovely and friendly staff here. They spent lots of time in the room and explained above and beyond of the injuries, and options of treatments. They were super patient and very caring.
The Vail Hospital Laboratory staff are amazing and the information and admission desk personnel are also amazing and professional. The other brand lab in Frisco is awol and ignores messages left. Thanks & kudos to Vail Hospital for a done job.
Unfortunately, I have been a frequent user of Vail Health. They are thoughtful and caring and their level of expertise is very high. I cannot say enough good things about them. They saved my life in the ER twice. I have had several surgeries and more than 70 cancer treatments here. And I have never been left in pain as I have been at other hospitals. If you need them, they are always there for you.
Never had such poor customer service on the back end. The care from patient staff is great but if you want good care start to finish go elsewhere, I'll be at Valley View. Billing will lose your payments, the online system will not load your bills, you will receive surprise billing and phone calls without assistance only looking for more payments and no ability to solve any problems their systems are creating. Just read the other reviews about the billing department and the response is tell the department. I did. Managers have no accountability and will openly admit they have poor communication with employees and none with patients. After numerous employees and over 3 hours on the phone I didn't even get an apology.
My daughter was seen in the ER at 9pm at night-- diagnosed with appendicitis within 1 -1/2 hrs and in OR by 1230am same night-- the expert care she received was second to none. Obviously we did not present in the afternoon when most ski injuries are in the ER-- but I have never been in a more efficient/caring ER -- excellent surgeon-- excellent OR staff- nursing- anesthesia--- top to bottom-- outstanding care I commend Vail Health for a truly professional organization
DO NOT GO HERE. Consider Valley View or going into Denver. You will be charged exorbitantly for simple treatments. If you look up averages nationwide, Vail Health’s services cost often double, or more, than the national average. The hospital administration’s greed for $$$ bonuses, etc is depriving consumers/patients of equitable healthcare. This is the textbook hospital to AVOID based solely on the hospital’s business principles.
Will you leave when Eric at urgent care center said “NO-ONE FORCES YOU TO WAIT”? I registered at urgent care center around 3:30pm and waited for two hours to be called in. At 6 pm, I was told there are still two patients in front of me before the doctor can treat me. In fact, I’m sure they were arrived after me. Since the pharmacy is closing at 6:30 pm, I asked Eric where can I get my prescription if needed. He told me to get it at other pharmacy, then he said “I will be here until 9 pm and NO-ONE FORCES YOU TO WAIT.” What a great care of service.
I was injured after a fall on the slopes at Vail. The Ski Patrol was excellent, and I was transported to Vail Health ER. I am an ER nurse and NP and I can say they were excellent! Dr. MCorvey was efficient and kind the nursing staff and Physical Therapist was reassuring and caring. Turned out I tore my ACL, bummed at my injury especially that it occurred on my birthday. The staff help me laugh a bit and wished me a happy birthday and got me on my way home to Conifer. Thanks to all for your help :
