The best. Properly diagnosed me as bi-polar after decades of being misdiagnosed. Dr. Vail is highly recommended.
By age Fifty I had been through therapy most of my adult life. I continued to be prescribed xanax--more and more over the years. Broken, I shopped for the best Psychiatrist who could straighten out my medications. Dr, Vail is my dear 'friend' 'Doctor' I should say and life savor for over 20 years now.
I have been fortunate to be able to see Dr. Vail for my condition for several years. Dr. Vail has always been very kind to me while being direct and frank. Her demeanor is cheerful and personable. She is extremely knowledgeable about all medications; there appropriate uses, benefits, and possible side effects. Most importantly, she never prescribes a medication unless I really need it. I have seen many psychiatrist over a period of many years. Dr. Vail has been the most intelligent, professional, and most pleasant of all of them. I appreciate her for helping me improve my life quality.
EXCELLENT DOCTOR. She saved my life by her excellent listening&diagnosis & prescribing right-on-target meds for my condition, and by recommending psychologist/counselor for the extensive talk-through therapies that were needed part of my crisis/condition. For close to 6 years now, Dr. Vail has been my ever-reliable & EXCELLENT help for my continued well-being.
I have only seen Dr. Vail one visit and a partial visit. The first visit went well. The second visit, she accused me of “Dr. Shopping” and did not want to continue seeing me. This accusation was an assumption made before inquiring why I had been previously prescribed short term pain medications, including for a dental extraction, a surgical nerve ablation, and a chronic pelvic floor condition. All of which are documented by each provider. As far as i know, she did not reach out to these providers to get my records. Nor did she ask me under what circumstances they were written. Instead, she made an unprofessional leap to a conclusion that she wanted nothing to do with me because I am “doctor shopping.” She also was uncomfortable with my previous visit with another psychiatric provider that wrote for short term, 2 weeks low dose .25 mg Xanax and Clonazapam. I chose not to continue with that provider because he was not in my insurance network and wanted me to keep coming in at two week intervals, which would have come out of pocket. I simply could not afford that and frankly, felt he was trying to get more money out of me. What kind of reasonable, professional doctor does not make an effort to find out why these medications were written? Why rush to judgement? I want a doctor that will be reasonable, professional, courteous, and will not make me feel like some kind of criminal.
Dr. Vail has been my Doc for almost 20 years. She is the right balance between understanding and telling you like it is. She has helped me immeasurably. RD
I have been a long-time patient of Dr. Vail’s and can’t say enough good things about her. She is kind, smart, efficient, and no-nonsense. Her understanding of medications is unparalleled. I truly can’t say enough good things about her.
Dr Vail discharged me because during a visit when I gave her my account of the drugs she had prescribed I was taking, I was taking them incorrectly. It was a complicated regime with incremental increases and decreases in my medicines. She literally threw me out of the office in a barely contained rage. This was years ago, I still don't understand it.
I have see dr vale on and off for ten years now. And she is one of the best psychiatrist that I have ever have. She listens to her patients and try’s to get to the root of the problem and best solution to to problem for the patient.
She takes excellent care of her patients. She will go above and beyond to help you get back to you and she is always honest and caring when doing so.
