Valencia Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center is proud of our long history of quality in Lakeland. Valencia was originally built in 1977. In addition to being the biggest facility in Lakeland Florida, Valencia Hills also ranks among its oldest. This wisdom serves us with distinction. Valencia caregivers have been providing a high quality of service to our patients for a long time. We have many employees who have impressive terms of service, some well over 20 years! Length of service is an important question to ask when touring facilities to place your loved one. It is vital that caregivers enjoy their job and are loyal when providing such intimate hands on care.
Valencia Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center is in a unique position due to our size to service many of your health care needs. We offer a fantastic Sub-Acute Rehab unit for our short-stay residents recovering from acute care episodes after they have left the hospital. These services include, but are not limited too, IV therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Diabetes Management, Restorative Therapy, and 24 hour Nursing Care. Valencia’s rehab unit is unique in that we offer 12 private rooms. Valencia realizes that today’s rehabilitation patients are younger and more active then ever before, so we have tailored our programs around this. Valencia Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center also contains the county’s largest active secure unit. The unit specializes in the care and services necessary for dementia care patients. These services begin with a locked unit where wandering patients are able to roam freely without fear of getting out of the facility. Our dementia care services also include daily nursing care by specially trained staff that are familiar with the latest strategies and research in caring for patients with dementia. We also offer easy access to dementia support groups, educational opportunities, and a safe comforting environment for your loved one. Our dementia patients also get to enjoy all the benefits of Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapies available to our short term patients. Our therapists are specially trained in working with dementia patients towards successful outcomes, to maintain their highest practicable level of functioning.
Valencia Hills also offers a wide range of long term care services. With our three, sixty bed units that specialize in long term care your loved ones will have a stable, happy, qualified staff to provide the care your family deserves. Plenty of capacity allows us to see to it that your loved one doesn’t have to move to another facility after finishing rehabilitation if they are still not able to return home. Many times residents in short term facilities are moved after finishing therapy to other facilities and the process of adjustment starts all over again. At Valencia we don’t have that concern, our patients simply move from one unit to the next as necessary. This allows the family and the resident to have a much easier adjustment time, as the facility procedures and policies are the same.
