Such a pretty and quaint park, with gorgeous wide falls, trails, and gift shop. The river was a pretty green and though a bit low the falls still are a sight to see. Yet another hidden gem of a park... PS, we seen several snakes so be aware while near the water and on the trails. Restrooms: Clean! Picnic area: Two large shelters but lots of open ground to enjoy picnics
Name the Valley Falls State Park Gnome! I submitted Mr.Flupalupagus Maybe Steve could be his first name. Ha! The park is great - well cared for and very obviously loved by the surrounding community. The bathrooms are clean, and the gift shop is adorable the candles smell absolutely lovely. The falls after a rain are quite beautiful and loud! There is a park for kids, pavilion, tons of picnic tables, and benches along the way to see & view the waterfall comfortably. All within reasonable distance from the bathroom, gift shop & parking lot. The road to get to the park does feel a bit narrow if you're driving a full-size truck/suv; but it's manageable below the speed limit. Please take care to watch for children as you drive. Playground: Very well kept, up to date! Restrooms: Very clean, private & ease of quick access. Dog-friendliness: Keep them leashed & pick up after your fluffykids, please! Picnic area: Spread out with tree cover, a pavilion nearby also. Could have been other areas but we didn't go too far.
I absolutely love this place. If you want a piece of nature that is breath taking and away from the public this hidden gem is it. It has restrooms throughout the oark, the views are beautiful, the fishing is amazing. Honestly it is a true slice of west virginia.
We visited on mothersday and we walked a few trails than walked down by the water and our daughters had a blast climbing the rocks and overlooking the water than we let them play at the playground for a while it was a fabulous mothersday
Beautiful state park! Definitely been to others that were more suited for hiking, however, this one was great for the views. Only down side was the closed gift shop-wasn’t open the whole day I was there. Very disappointed.
Great park with easy to get to waterfalls. Seems like a great way to spend a day.
Such a hidden gem! Only 40 min from Clarksburg. Close to Fairmont. Has plenty of picnic tables, places you can picnic on the rocks and walk around, beautiful falls, railroad tracks, historical sites, playground, etc. This place is really an all in one park. Has many hiking trails too. The parking lot is large capacity so don't worry about finding a spot. Has 2 drink vending machines in case you forgot water. Always make sure pets and small kids are leashed because if you get too close the rapids are rough and disaster can happen. My dog had one tick found on her after visiting so please remember your tick prevention as well before visiting. Had a lot of fun and will be back. This park is ADA accessible.
Well-maintained grounds! Assistance with getting back up the hill for Mom who's in a wheelchair. Caretaker very kind, have us information about the history of the park, etc Restrooms: Wheelchair accessible restrooms, clean.
Such a beautiful setting and a short hike! This is a great place to stop while traveling and it would be great for local families!
One of our favorite places. Rarely crowded. There are trails, a playground, bathrooms, waterfall, rocks to climb and nature to enjoy. Lots of shade too.
