The City of Rochester Hills owns and operates the Van Hoosen Jones-Stoney Creek Cemetery located at Tienken and Sheldon roads. It is open daily from 8:00 am until dusk.
The city also owns two historical cemeteries: Brewster Cemetery on Brewster Road and Old Stoney Creek Cemetery on Letica Drive in the City of Rochester. There are no lot sales for these cemeteries.
Details
The cemetery was donated to Avon Township by the late Dr. Sara Van Hoosen Jones in 1956. It is comprised of 16.8 acres of rolling terrain. It contains 11,200 burial plots, each with two spaces; a cremation section is also available. The cemetery features a chapel that provides shelter from the elements and comfort for families.
Purchasing Lots
Cemetery lots may be purchased by residents or nonresidents. View the fee schedule for cemetery lots to learn more about purchasing a lot. Lot sales can be arranged with Cemetery Sexton Calvin Leach. The purchase of monuments or markers is also available through the cemetery sexton.
