A non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of the entire 162 years of military presence at the Vancouver Barracks.
The Vancouver Barracks Military Association (VBMA) was founded in 2010 by a group of local veterans. With the military leaving the Vancouver Barracks, the VBMA wanted to insure that the history of the area would not be lost in the shadow of Fort Vancouver.
As part of our overall plan to keep the history of the Vancouver Barracks alive, we are currently in the process of opening our interpretive museum which will be located in or near the original boundaries of the Barracks. The VBMA supports monthly military history talks, many focusing on the Vancouver and Pacific Northwest. We also offer interpretive walks through the Vancouver Barracks Post Cemetery.
