Donna Dubois was very thorough and explained everything in a way I could understand. She has a calming personality. Dominique checked me in. She had great customer service and very helpful!! I highly recommend this Walgreens Vanderbilt Walk-in Clinic!!!
APRN was very rude and dissmissive. Was clearly annoyed I was there. I've been there a couple of times and saw that same person, they were just as unprofessional each time. Both times they tried to say I had something "Viral" almost as soon as they saw me, both times didn't want to examine me or ask any question. I felt like they just collected my copay and sent me on my way, knowing full well I would end up needing to see anothermore $$ Vanderbilt doctor. No other urgent care or walk in, even with Vandy, that I've been too is like that. Definitely will not go back and couldn't recommend it.
Worst customer service and did not show compassion as a "compassionate caring" clinic as advertised. Please retrain your health care professionals in customer service. employees working Sunday, 8/15/21. I arrived to the "walk-in clinic" before opening, and was the only patient there, employee told me they were booked all day and if I wanted to wait she might fit me in that afternoon. I sat quietly and waited until opening, still no patients with appointments had shown up. After 9am, she had not uncovered monitor to check in, she actually blocked it while staring at receptionist behind the counter. I walked up to her and asked her if there was a customer service number, because I needed to talk to someone. She stated, "no there wasn't that she knew of," and said, "I told you I would fit you in, but we are not open yet." It was past opening, and no, what she told me was, "I could sit there and maybe she would fit me in that afternoon." During a pandemic I appreciate essential workers showing up for work, I am, myself an essential worker, as an elementary teacher I needed to make sure that I was not spreading germs/infections/strep throat to my students and their families.
Really nice people! I came in for a Covid screening test before being admitted to the hospital this weekend and both ladies I dealt with were very kind, helpful and thorough. And the nurse didn’t stick the Covid q tip up into my brain like I’ve had before. So thank you for that!! It was fast, too. In and out no problems. The guy at the pharmacy desk was also very nice and helpful. He answered all my questions.
The clinic was able to get me in quickly. The young lady that helped me was not rude, but did not help my sinus issues in any way. Please don't tell me my issues are viral and there is nothing that you can do unless you are at least going to swab me to rule out bacterial. After the experience was said and done, after insurance, the bill was $177. $177 to waste an hour of my time and theirs.
Donna Dubois was excellent. She was knowledgeable, thorough and had a wonderful bed side manner. You can tell she cares about her patients. She took the time she needed to give proper care so while you may need to wait some time to be seen she is worth the wait.
Had to go to the doctor today so decided to check out the Vanderbilt health clinic at Walgreens in Donelson. Vanderbilt continues to amaze me!! The medical staff that took care of me were absolutely amazing. To take care of so many people and still greet you with a smile is out of this world. The doctor, even in her protective mask because she too was experiencing the same symptoms as I was, was still smiling the entire visit. Want to find some Angel's, look no farther than the brilliant staff at Vanderbilt.
Update: Donna, the PAC who saw me, called today to follow up. She explained that she did not know the other PAC’s were not calling with a negative result, hence why I didn’t get a call back and she didn’t know to tell me I wouldn’t get a call if it was negative. Also, the tests they use at all the clinics are the same and work for all people and do have an error rate. I really appreciated her calling to clarify and I would go back again. Thanks, Donna! Got right in when they opened one day because I thought I had Strep. They did a swab that was negative but the PA said they can be wrong and they could send it into the lab. She said I should hear something back from them by Friday or Saturday AM at the latest. Still no word Saturday at 3pm and my throat is still sore. I didn’t want antibiotics if it wasn’t strep, but I also didn’t want to wait 3 more days to find out yes or no. Also, I find it strange they don’t have accurate testing equipment? She said a girl was in with all the signs of step a few days earlier and the test at the clinic came back negative; two days later after she sent it to the lab she said it was positive. Seems odd they are Vanderbilt associated yet don’t have proper equipment to treat people. Definitely wont go back. Also, only NOW did I read the other reviews and wish I had read them sooner...
Overall, the staff and the provider were nice. They weren't overly helpful as they boiled it down to "You might have a virus. Take some steroids.", I came in fearing I had strep; there were noticeable white spots on my tonsils but they both swore that they didn't see anything. The hands down WORST PART of this was that it was never disclosed how expensive this clinic is now that Vanderbilt runs it. I was there for less than 10 minutes and they charged $311. INSANE. Skip this place and go to a PCP. It'll cost you less!
I called yesterday and asked some questions and got the answers I needed. Came in today and was greeted with a smile. The check in was easy, and I had no wait. The NP was courteous and the office visit was fast and easy. I asked if my prescriptions could be split to 2 pharmacies, and they did as I asked. When I went to the pharmacy window 5 mins later my meds were already waiting for me. Perfect score from me.
