We live in WNC and were coming to Vanderbilt Med Center for surgery, arriving on Sunday. Friday evening after hours the hospital called and wanted an extremely large down payment by 8:30 on Monday or my surgery would be cancelled. Vanderbilt Credit Union is a shared branch of our normal credit union so we arrived there when they opened. The teller 1st window listened to our story, knew she couldn’t help us but apologized and got what turned out to be our angel on earth. Mr. Mike McDonald, President and CEO appeared and took us to his office. He patiently listened and offered easy solutions for us, discussed with another employee and then offered to discuss with the hospital when they called us back. We waited in their conference room until the call came in and Mike was right there to take over. He offered the options to the hospital and told them our personal check would be good unless they wanted money wired. They agreed on a check and at that point Mike walked us through the maze of the hospital to the exact person we were told to deal with. It’s rare in the business world, to run across such an amazing, caring, compassionate human being but Mike is all of those things and more. I could never recommend this credit union enough, they truly care about their members, even “shared” members and the level they go to making sure you are satisfied in unmatched. Thank you again for everything, we are eternally grateful
One star minus one star equals to big donut which means zero star. This bank needs more new graduate multitaskers. You will not be able to access your funds easily. Frequent mistakes in your accounts, no answering to phone calls. No weekend service, every transaction is very difficult and slow to complete. Embarrassing for the Vanderbilt to keep this bank open!
Horrible member customer service. I’ve tried to contact the office multiple times on various business days without speaking with anyone competent on resolving my issue with the online banking portal. I was sent to a 1-800 # which connected me to someone who barely speaks English and was unable to access my account. Will be leaving this organization once my loan is paid off. Do not recommend opening an account of any kind here
I joined the Credit union as a medical employee, because I was sick of the fees at B of A and disappointed with their conservative lending criteria. I was impressed from day one after walking in and meeting Mike, the Credit union Manager. I recently applied for a refinance on my car that I only had four months, and also applied for an unsecured debt consolidation loan. I was initially turned down for them both, but I was working with Anthony, what a breathe of fresh air by the way. He told me, they have a Credit committee made up of my peers who could take a second look at them. They did and they approved me for both of them. I have nothing to say but good things about Vanderbilt credit union, Mike, Judy, Reggie, and especially Anthony are all rock stars in my humble opinion. I am forever grateful ...
I first worked with the VCU for my first car loan and now I am beginning to think about purchasing my first home! I worked with Anthony who was incredibly helpful and available on my car loan. He made it such an easy process. For my first home, I recently met with Michael and he was very realistic about the pros and cons of buying a home. I appreciate the holistic approach he took to helping me figure out what move was best for me right now. You can’t go wrong at the VCU! I have only worked with genuinely good people who want to help.
Good evening, I wanted to let you know what I observed on 1/25. Ms. Wombley, one of your tellers who displayed one the most wonderful acts community service I've ever seen. I observed Ms. Wombley who serviced an Vanderbilt employee who apparently who had trouble getting his pay check for 4 weeks due to a supervisor error possibly. The employee was so upset that he wanted to quit. Ms. Wombley managed to change his mind, by advising him to get his supervisor involved. The gentleman, left happy and confident thanks to Ms. Wombley's actions. I felt obligated to commend Ms. Wombley for her action's on this day. - Thanks
Customer service was great and the loan refinance process was easy! I had the pleasure of working with Anthony. He made the auto loan refinance process extremely easy to follow and did a great job answering all my questions! I would definitely recommend the Vanderbilt Credit Union.
Vanderbilt Credit Union is a friendly and effective institution that makes the everyday challenge of managing money less of a chore and more of a community effort. Have a dental emergency? A leaking roof? They have heard it all before and the are ready and willing to be of help if they can. This is a financial institution that truly cares about its customers.
We were treated fairly by Michael and team when we looked to adjust our mortgage. He took the time to help us understand the options and the pros and cons behind each one. We will continue to use them in the future and would recommend.
I have been with them for about 7 years now and have had nothing but pleasant experiences. I have moved out of state and still keep them as my main bank. Recently I purchased a home in another state and they did all they could to help me and allowed me to complete everything electronically since I would not have been able to make it to the bank to sign anything in person. They work quickly to solve issues as well.
