I was recently at Vaughan for a service for a relative. This funeral home used to be managed better in the past. I didn't feel there was any empathy shown towards my relatives who were grieving over their son's death. We weren't welcomed, and when it was time to take the body to the cemetery, it was rushed. My relatives didn't have much of a chance to give their proper goodbyes to the body of their son. This may not be the funeral home's fault, but there was also no police escort provided for those of us who left from the funeral hall to the cemetery. There was also a lack of time management. I know it's a personal choice to wear a mask, however, I think it's kind of hypocritical to mandate visitors and family to wear a mask, but none of the employees are mandated to wear one. This was a very disappointing experience at a time that my family and relatives needed support and comfort.
Would like to know if I can expect to receive death certificate anytime this year has been over 2 and half months can't even get an answer Kenneth jackson
My stepfather passed away February 9. He was not cremated until over a week later and this place had the audacity to charge my mother for the fees of storing him longer. Mom received an email on Thursday, March 18th saying they needed to confirm with her that they had the correct information for the death certificate and would be sending another email. She waited all that day and weekend for the follow up email. She did not get the email to confirm the info until late in the day on Monday March 22. We replied to it right away with the corrections. Assuming they sent it to the State after this point, that means they did not send the application in to the vital statistics department for his death certificate until over a month and a half after he passed!!! They are required by their own licensing boards to submit them within 10 days of death! We are still waiting for them and it’s the middle of April with no sign of them. I definitely do not recommend.
Absolute WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! Total lack of professionalism...from the basic customer call...to even messing up the death certificate AFTER sending them the updated corrected mistakes they have on file that they erred in the beginning. Good luck getting someone to contact you...they'll contact you continuously to make sure you make your $10 extra certificate payment but will take well over a month to confirm details. Going on 2 months and I find myself having to take time to call and make sure all the information is asked for...will then get a call and mention to me they forgot to have another form for me. You ask them to handle things one way and instead, Vaughan Funeral Home Services would rather handle things to THEIR convenience. I wish I can put 0 stars, but instead I find myself writing a review for a Funeral home who is more concerned with collecting money and once they have your money, knows you're at their schedule. I even offered to make the 7 hr drive to Donna TX and their response was..."it would be pointless sir. In our line of work, we run off someone else's time and cooperation". Death is imminent, but to save you the headache and turmoil that THEY are being compensated to handle, I would HIGHLY ask you to look elsewhere.
I am a winter Texan. While my wife and I were there this year when she passed away. Vaughan Funeral Home handled all the arrangements to get her home. They did a wonderful task with all of the preparations to get her home in a timely manner. I am very thankful to Olga Mendoza for her kindness and help to get me through this terrible time. When I return this winter I will be able to thank her in person. David Dumas
This people take more work then they can handle. Bodies sit there until the funeral home makes time. Instead of thelling the relatives that it would be best to find a different funeral home. Money hungry.
Thank You so much Denise Garcia. I was very pleased with the services you there at Vaughan provided for my family and Thank You also for being patient with us.
