Last week was my 1st time here. I called with an emergency and they got me in within the hour. The entire team was so kind and professional. I had put my 15 year old cat to sleep and was an emotional wreck. They were so understanding and patient with me. Their prices are reasonable also. I highly recommend using VCA. I had been looking for a new vet for awhile and they were the right choice for me. Thanks to the entire staff!
They were available for my pups at the two emergencies I had on the past. They were good with them. I felt comfortable there.
always a great experience bringing my dog here to get groomed. SARAH is absolutely AMAZING. she is the only person i trust alone with my dog. she is also the only person my dog will let trim his nails... makes sure he has a treat/bandana after every appointment... photo attached is him after an appointment.. my dog gets super anxious being any where near the vet and she is always very gentle... as long as she is working here this place will always have my buisness.
I visited VCA in Dover for the first time on 11/25/22. It was an unfortunate time due to having to euthanize my dog. The staff and vet were more than accommodating and compassionate during the entire visit. When we first walked in, they knew what we were there for and took us immediately to a room. Our technician, Tianna, was very helpful. Katelyn Jones, our vet, was amazing! She took the time to examine our dog and explain everything that was going on and what the next steps out be. Our overall experience was perfect at a very stressful and upsetting time. I would recommend them and will keep them in mine when I get another dog.
Took my Chihuahua here because she wasn’t feeling well. Thank God it was nothing serious. So glad I looked them up and found them because I was able to get an appointment quickly, the staff was very understanding and polite on the phone and we had a very pleasant visit. This place really knows how to take care of the animals they interact with. I watched with my own and also as others came in to receive service. So glad I have found a new animal hospital to take my Fur Babies to
I just wanted to say that the staff here truthfully cares about our pets but also us. Today I came in with my toddler and my dog. I ended up having to wait past my appointment time, and they took the extra mile to check on my family and pet numerous times, giving our dog treats and pets. After I was waiting to pay, my toddler was just not having it and one of the sweet staff members occupied my toddler and entertained him so I could checkout. This is amazing and show just how caring they truthfully are. To the staff member who helped me with my toddler I can't thank you enough, your kindness was appreciated more than you know!
We used the VCA care plan for 2 dogs and a cat for 2 yrs . It definitely saved a little money and helped keep track of their health. The veterinarians are super knowledgeable and the staff is friendly. We have since moved to a new location and use a new veterinarian but I would recommend VCA with 2 thumbs up!
I came in here as an urgent care visit today on 09/21/2022. My dog severely injured her dew claw causing in interior to become exposed. They have to do surgery which I am currently waiting for them to finish . Ask of that's well and good but they thing they really had me more than a little angry and frustrated is the attitude one of the nurses took with me about 5 minutes ago. Why did she take this attitude you might ask? Well they gave me a list full of estimates for the medical bill. Naturally because of the abruptness of all of this event, saying is left me bewildered is an understatement. So like any functional adult I ask her about each item so I could fully understand what was happening to a dog I care greatly about...... And that's it. That's the thing that prompted her to give me an attitude. I will update when I find her name. To summarize: if you are reading this and you are the woman I was referring to, let me tell you something. I get that your in the practice of medicine for animals and all, but your going to have to interact with humans going through varying levels of distress during your career. A little "bed side manner" is paramount. Let me tell you something else. I've worked in trauma for ten years in a major city serving humans going through unimaginable tragedies. I am currently a medical student to continue serving humans. So trust me, I know what I'm talking about when I say that if someone asking you about the medical procedures you about to perform is enough to fluster you and prevent you from fulfilling your duties in a compassionate manner. I advise you quit while your still young because your in the wrong career. With all due respect of course. Update: the staff member I am referring to is a technician named Carley. So Carley if your reading this. When I said to you and I quote: "Sorry for inconveniencing you by asking all these questions." I can only hope you picked up on the hint I was giving you. If not please consider another career as it will only eat away at you over time.
We had an emergency with our little guy and everyone from front office to the Dr. were incredible. The Dr. actually called the next day today to follow up and see how Toby was doing. Dr. Gilison is a rockstar vet and so is Jenn. Several treatment options were presented with potential outcomes of each. They knew we loved our pup but also had to be mindful of money. The perfect nightmare in an emergency situation. The entire staff went above and beyond and we just could not be more grateful for such compassionate service and kindness at a sensitive time. Front end staff reminded us we didn't need to be strong in those moments, because they were there to be strong for us.
My animals will never go here again. Vet has little ability to diagnose problems. Paid over 1000 for some xrays and a blood test and he couldn't even tell me what was wrong. Went to another vet for a second opinion and saw in the notes he sent over "bad prognosis, concerned about payment". They walked in with a bill 3 different times when we thought out dog was dying an we paid in full before leaving. This place is a scam. Shame in this place for taking advantage of people in bad situations. *Update It's been 4 days since they commented on this review and responded via email I have not received a response from VCA. Turns out our dog had heartworms the vet never asked about heartworms or if she was on medication for it. They told me it was cancer and didn't even offer a test to determine thats what it was. My otherwise healthy dog would have died if we did not seek a second opinion.
