I’m beyond grateful for this hospital. My fur baby had a little accident and no other hospital would take us as emergency because we didn’t have an appointment. Called at 8:30 am and we were there by 10:30 which was a big relief. Dr Taylor was amazing! So calm, she definitely knew what she was doing and even followed up how he was doing the next day. My baby is doing so much better. Thank you so much for taking us! I really appreciate your hard work.
Dr. K is the best vet I’ve worked with. She is kind, logical, and empathetic. I’ve been going there for a few years and wholeheartedly trust her. The office staff is polite. I saw the other vet once due to urgency and will never again; it was a negative experience. The office itself can be tough to deal with due to pace. I have learned to avoid Saturdays altogether and just generally expect it to take a long time when I go. That could be improved, particularly when you sit in a room with your sick pet and can overhear chatter. I also wish they could run labs at the office as well vs sending it off; I’ve worked with another vet in town who can give me results in the office while here I have to wait a few days.
The staff were unorganized and inefficient. I had an appointment for my cat, Autumn, to have a vaccine shot that was supposed to be $50. Before that, on my way there, I confirmed to them by phone that I was on the way. The nurse on the phone told me, “You’ll have to make it quick. The doctor wants to go on lunch break.” First, why would you rush an appointment on a patient due to your time mismanagement. It made me feel that I was at fault. Secondly, appointments are usually at least thirty minutes. As we were seen, the nurse took my cat’s weight and she looked like she took it down with her clipboard. After a few minutes, she asks me, “Did you remember the weight? I wasn’t paying attention.” I found that disappointing since this shows the nurse had the inability to stay focused or do her job properly. Finally, she brought in two vaccines and told me it was a total of $120. They mentioned on the phone that my cat just needed one vaccine for $50. I was shocked and I asked why the additional vaccine. They told me it was for outdoor cats. As I told them at my last appointment and they kept not me of it on her record, my cat is strictly an indoor cat that stays indoor at all times. In the end, I wouldn’t recommend this vet due to their unprofessional work ethic, lack of attention, and trying to overcharge patients for unnecessary medical charges.
Came to this establishment because I was not too happy with another vet place I took my dog to. As a new patient, a thorough physical/examination should be done. The vet did not feel his abdominal area as is done in a checkup. She was also rather dismissive when I asked her a final question regarding who in town did she know that could do cryosurgery. She seemed to be in a hurry. I ended up going to another vet to get him a decent checkup; there, the vet checked him thoroughly, especially around the abdomen, to which a tumour was found. I felt like I wasted time and money at this place. Would not recommend.
I have been going to VCA East Colonial Hospital for over 20 years and won’t go anywhere else. Every time I have been to this office my pets have been taken care of as if they were their own. Just recently my cat had a serious illness and Dr. Taylor and her staff took such good care of him. They took him as a walk-in with no questions asked. They would call me and let me know how my cat was doing. This took place over a 3 day period starting on 2/13/23 at the emergency vet in Casselberry and then going back and forth for 24 hour care. They explained everything to me in a way that I could understand about his diagnosis. What a great place to take your pet. He is recovering well at home I couldn’t be happier. Thank you VCA family for all you do. Marian and Lokie
Dr. K is amazing and always was super helpful. I have nothing bad to say about her. If I had listened to Dr. Taylor my dog would most likely be dead. She saw my dog 2x in 2 days because they messed up the blood draw. My dog could barely move and I had to carry her. They didn’t blink an eye or find that strange. Even after getting the partial blood results back, Dr. Taylor did not share them with me until confronted. She claimed my dog was possibly anemic but she didn’t have a diagnosis. My brother’s girlfriend is a vet in Cali. I called her, as I was still super worried, and explained the symptoms. She didn’t even need to see my dog to diagnose her with IMHA. Also, my dog had 10% red blood cells so she was most definitely anemic. When I asked Dr. Taylor if I should take my dog to the emergency vet she said “if you think you need to.” I did and I’m grateful I did because my dog needed a blood transfusion and was fighting for her life. Surely enough, the emergency vet agreed with my brother’s girlfriend about the IMHA as did the internal vet at Blue Pearl. I normally don’t write reviews like this, but my dog almost died due to the incompetency shown at this veterinary clinic.
Walked out crying today and it had nothing to do with my pet. The service here is terrible. The prescription dog food my dog was supposed to get was never sent out. I called a month later and they told me that it was in the cart but they didn't send it. Then when they finally sent me the food I was triple charged for it. As someone who lives paycheck to paycheck this was devastating. I called to get a refund and was told I have to go through vetsource, a third party, to get my refund. They couldn't do it because it was already shipped. They told me to bring it into the vet for a refund. I brought it in today and they told me there will be no manager here until the 2nd of January and I will have to wait until then to get a refund.
Today I had to bring my dog in to be put to sleep. The staff was incredibly kind, understanding and patient. I can’t thank them enough for everything they did to make my Angel comfortable. This was my second dog I’ve had to have put to sleep there and I can’t thank them enough. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Dr Taylor and Jamal for all that you did.
Once Dr. K and everyone else left this VCA has just been horrible. Impossible to make and appointment. I made an appointment a month in advance for my dogs vaccines and when I showed up the front staff told me the doctor had called out and they can reschedule me for 3 WEEKS out. No one had called me to inform me not to come in. The front staff was honestly helpless. Don’t waste your time at this hospital.
My dogs Bella and Bindy have been coming to VCA East Orlando for 10 months. Dr. K is the best vet I have ever interacted with and I am old! The other vet has treated my dogs twice and she is excellent also. There is not one person who works there that does not love animals and it is evident in every interaction that I have witnessed, not just with my dogs. I am going to add my two cranky cats to the mix soon. All the vet techs are amazing. My dogs love to go into this building.
