OOF! I’ve had great experiences with other VCA hospitals but this location was such a let down. First off, the prices are super inflated. While other vets charge $50-$75 for an exam, this location charges $120 for the exam fee alone. I took my two healthy, middle aged cats in for their annual wellness check and vaccines, and the total was a whopping $600 at checkout. I was actually speechless. I then received an estimate of $1600-$2200 for one of my cats to have one tooth pulled. I easily found another local clinic that estimated the cost of the surgery for around $700. Then there’s the general lack of friendly service. The receptionist was cold and unwelcoming when I arrived and when I checked out, and had zero understanding or compassion when I was shocked at the bill. The vet seemed pretty disinterested in me and my animals as well. Honestly, the kind vet tech was the only positive part of my experience here.
I've had countless great experiences with different vets while taking my cat here for the past 5 years. We started with the kitten careclub and then have kept the cat careclub since. They're very nice and thorough, and one time they even stayed open slightly late so I could rush my cat there after he had eaten a bunch of tulips so I could avoid needing to go to the emergency vet. I highly recommend taking your animal here.
We took our dog here for the first time since moving to the neighborhood. The receptionists, techs and doctor were all very friendly and professional and provided a very thorough wellness exam along with a thoughtful new client goodie bag. The services, convenience, and clean, well-maintained facility make up for the high costs which are understandable considering the neighborhood and the clinic being a VCA. We also appreciated the staff taking the time to provide an itemized estimate as budgeting vet expenses over the year is a must for us. Overall, a great experience from start to finish.
The doctor and techs are nice and seem fine, though I do often hear them complaining about pets/owners while I'm waiting in the exam room. The receptionist short-ish hair, on the other hand, could not be colder or more unfriendly. She neither greeted me nor made any acknowledgement of our presence and gave serious attitude when I approached to ask if I need to check in and again when leaving and I asked about checking out. I gave a friendly "goodbye" and she said nothing and just glared at me. Horrible attitude aside, it would have been nice to be informed when I checked in that there is about a 15min wait due to an unforseen emergency earlier in the day, just suggestion for the future. I show up to my appointments on time and expect that the doctor will do the same; if there is a delay, it should be communicated.
First off- let me say the entire staff here is incredible, from the front desk, to the vet tech to the doctor. They treated my cat and me with such kindness and offered so much information. I came for a wellness visit but a few other things I was concerned about were addressed and I didn't feel rushed at all.. They were upfront about pricing AND sent us away with a kitty goodie bag! After one visit I'm convinced this will be the only place I'll bring my pets going forward.
Great neighborhood care for your pet. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and work with your schedule. That being said, staff tend to push products and services on you like salespeople, and have a tendency to nickle and dime you. Single services are separated into individual line items, each with a separate cost. Price quotes for things like teeth cleanings can vary by hundreds of dollars, depending on who writes them up, so be sure to get a second opinion for those.
So greatful for this place! I grew up in Magnolia and my parents took our pets here, now I've been taking my own dog here for over 8 years. We board our dog here when we travel and love knowing that he is well cared for and, as an older dog, they are able to watch his health and care for him according. The staff are awesome!
So I was a little cautious when I brought my cats here because the last VCA gave my 5 month kitten steroids made for a much heavier and older cat. It ended up costing us almost a thousand dollars to fix. But let me tell you guys this is the best place ever. They took excellent care of my two precious cats. They listened to everything and treated our cats as their own. My oldest cat didn’t want to leave the sink so she did everything in the sink. To top it off, we got a hand written card saying welcome and how much they loved our animals. It Also came with coupons! Our new favorite vet. I will recommend to everyone!
