Venice Cafe Chicago

Was really wanting some good Italian food and decided to try here for lunch. Wasn’t really sure what to order and assumed I couldn’t go wrong with a slice of pizza. That’s on me, this really wasn’t that great - more on par with cafeteria lunch than an Italian cafe. I still haven’t been able to find anything on the menu that wows me - maybe I’ll try a daily special next time I find myself here.

Have lunch here every so often and it's always great! Lunch time 12 to 1 gets pretty packed, but everything moves at a quick pace. Staff on the main side serving pasta, salads, etc. can be a little lacking in customer service, but overall quality, great tasting food, and really good prices more than make up for it.

Awesome hidden gem for those who work downtown. More of a lunch place... Don't be fooled by the Cafeteria style dining. All meals taste home cooked and fresh out the oven! I ordered a chicken mozzarella calzone and my husband had the chicken tortellini with majestic sauce. Perfectly done, will return!

Smelled the aroma of deliciousness as I was walking by and decided to stop in and try it for lunch. Happy I did! I tried the "make your own pasta" and was extremely pleased and satisfied. I will most definitely return to try some other things on the menu!

I work inside of CUS and I was walking in search for something different, healthy, good and inexpensive. Well I've found the place. I ordered a Turkey Sandwich side of hot peppersand paired it with a Mediterranean Side Salad and it was phenomenal!! It only cost $7 but tasted as if I paid $20 for it. I will definitely be a regular here since the menu has an array of options - for when you want to be good or bad!!

I love the food here. Walking in the door the smell of garlic is so delish! Prices are VERY fair and its my place of choice anytime I don't bring my lunch! - My favorite is the Fettucini Alfredo with Chicken - fills me up and tastes so good! Comes with a fresh garlic roll.

I went there for a lunch last week, I ordered the Pepperoni and Cheese Cal zone, I can safely say that the food was bland, the cheese tasted terrible and the marinara sauce was soggy. The food made me incredibly sick. I actually had to leave work early because I couldn't stop using the toilet. I'm never coming here again!

A little upset. That I ordered the Managers Special to go, and there was no chicken!! Paid close to $13 for only grilled veggies and bread. Was asked to take it back, but I couldn't due to time restraint. I really like it there, but today was a total fail!!

Great quick Italian food at an excellent price. The manager was very kind and treated us with an awesome welcoming greeting. Loved everything and everybody. I highly recommend this place. The prices were unbelievably low. Can't miss on this place !!!

Decent Italian food from a counter serve restaurant at a decent price. Service was quick as most items are already prepped. Atmosphere is a little dated, but it's clean inside and nothing too bad.
