The Family Medicine Residency Program at Ventura County Medical Center (VCMC) is a premier site for unopposed full spectrum Family Medicine training.
Affiliated with the UCLA School of Medicine, VCMC is one of the original 15 programs approved in Family Practice and has been educating physicians since 1928. Graduates of the program are equipped with the skills to work anywhere, especially with the medically underserved.
Ventura residents establish continuity Family Medicine practices for a diverse patient population in the Academic Family Medicine Center while managing VCMC's inpatient medicine, surgery, OB, ICU, ER, and pediatric services. They take time out once a week for protected didactic time, enjoy each others' company during an annual all-resident retreat, and get to live in Ventura, California.
