Vermilion is a village in Stratton and Elbridge Township townships, Edgar County, Illinois, United States. The population was 225 at the 2010 census.GeographyVermilion is located at, about three miles west of the border with Indiana. The racial makeup of the village was 99.16% White, and 0.84% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.42% of the population.There were 93 households out of which 35.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.1% were married couples living together, 20.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 18.3% were non-families. 16.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.57 and the average family size was 2.84.
