Verstraete Travel & Cruises is a fully appointed, accredited and licensed travel agency, specializing in group and cruise travel. Representing all airlines, tour operators and cruise lines, it is independently owned and operated by Baldwin and Lucy Verstraete who bring a wealth of travel experience to their clients.

As the exclusive Canadian agency for the Welcome Again Veterans Foundation, Verstraete Travel has been extensively involved in providing high quality Holland Liberation tours for Canadian war veterans and travel companions since 1995. They also specialize in customized WW1 and WW2 European Battlefield tours, group travel worldwide and cruises.

Unfortunately, my experience with Verstraete Travel exposed a company that operated with a lack of professional integrity and poor customer service. The company refused to refund travelers in 2020 whose trips were cancelled due to COVID-19, unlike many other companies. Verstraete held the hard-earned money of dozens of travelers for a service that they did not provide. It is unfortunate, but in my view Verstraete has displayed very poor ethical behaviour, beginning with their management.  Beware of this company and look for other options before giving them any deposits or money.

A group trip was planned to Holland to acknowledge Canada's contribution to the liberation of same. Although all non essential travel in and out of both countries was banned, Verstraete felt quite comfortable in retaining all funds paid by group members  approx $100k  This was my first time dealing with a travel agent, and will be my last. Given circumstances IMO the right thing to do was to refund all group members monies.
