For sure one of my favorite nightclubs here in San Francisco. The venue is literally underground and has a more lounge feel to it then a night club. It's fairly small so it's quite personal in there. I always have a great time coming here with my friends. The dress code varies for people. Some go fancy while others wear more casual jeans and nice shirts.
Cute, open lounge/club scene! The bartender gave us the "Joey special" which tasted really good. I don't think they water down your drinks and the bathrooms are always stocked with toilet paper and seat covers! That's a plus in my books. I would come back again but not for another EDM event. :
Vessel is one of my favorite clubs in SF. The space is gorgeous - love the couches and the lighting is amazing. They also give out these awesome glow sticks that change color - trust me, they're cool. I actually love that the bathrooms are co-ed because I usually have to wait forever for the girls bathroom in a club, but I never wait here. Bathroom attendants are unnecessary though. Vessel books incredible international djs - I've seen Simian Mobile Disco, Digitalism, LA Riots, and Yolanda Be Cool, just to name a few. The cover at the door can be high, but their pre-sales are generally very affordable. They also just started doing promotions with the WillCall app, so you can get in for even less sometimes. Some people on here have complained about the bouncers but I've never had a problem with them. They're always nice to me! Once they even bandaged up a friend of mine who had cut her leg on a broken glass. The only complaint I have is the sometimes obnoxious crowd. It's frustrating when I go to see a dj I love and everyone else is just there to get wasted, hook up, and bump into me without acknowledgement. Even their new Wednesday night that's supposed to be more "artsy" is still drawing that same mainstream crowd. That being said, I can't blame the club for the people who choose to go there. The same could be said for Mezzanine, Ruby Skye, etc. Key is - look for their promotions, try to anticipate what kind of night they're having music wise, and you'll have an awesome time!
One word: Posh. I came here a few times on different occasions. My last visit, I had a great time! One of my favorite spots to hit up SF if I don't feel like driving through SoMa, Mission, or North Beach....middle of Union Square with all the shopping essentials that every woman needs in case she cares to freshen up in a hot looking LBD! Whether it'd be a birthday, anniversary, promotion, etc. I've never been disappointed attending here. I like the eclectic crowd. Eye candy and different mix of people always draws me back, but it's the taste of MY kind of music that I love about this place! Vessel carries a good hand of DJs playing house to electro type of music. If you're not into that, I suggest to not show face here. If you're in the likes of good heavy bass, beats that make your feet keep moving, and an array of grooving music making your hips move from left to right....you're definitely in the right place! I got in the zone when a few friends and I got into a full circle while dancing to DJ Scotty Boy throw in a good mix of house beats playing in the background. Man, sweat was dripping down my face while I threw in sweet moves on the dancefloor. If, and I say if, I had a nice pair of kicks instead of heels, that's the time only time I'll be able to dance like a bgirl. Luckily, I've been here from time to time wearing jeans, light sweater and a pair of boots or tennis shoes for dancing. However, most nights, depending who promotes, there's a strict dress code. Highly suggestive to call and check with the venue if it's okay to wear low-key clothing without looking like a drab. The look of the venue reminded me a bit like Motif in San Jose. Small and sparse furnishings, there was enough room to dance and enough bottle services tables to hold a great amount of people to party! White walls, Dance videos on TV screens, awesome music throughout the night, and the right company....you're in for a good night! Side note, I don't like overpriced and water-downed drinks, but that won't stop me from coming back!
I went here this weekend for a boys night out. I had me +2 on the guest list but another 2 friends decided to come out. They had no problem adding the extra friends and we all got in for free. The bartenders typically serve you pretty fast and the well drinks are about 8 bucks each.
I came here for the 2013 New Years Bash and it was so much fun! The place is small but I feel like that added to the fun. It wasn't crowded and stuffy, it was just right. I had such a good time, I recommend this club for anyone who loves to dance
Now this place use to have the worst security a few years ago. But they have really improved in offering better customer service to the patrons. The place gets really crowded, so unless you have bottle service, it's pretty hard to find your own wiggle room. That being said, security use to be just very angry people, even when you are trying your best to not step on any toes. Sound is pretty great and you can hear it almost everywhere. They have these annoying wooden columns near the tables that kind of mess up the vibe a bit when you are trying to see an act. As far as the quality of the talent that goes through here, they have had some amazing acts for their Thursday BASE parties. A lot of great techno, deep house and dub. People like Sasha, Kaiserdisco, Umek, Carl Cox etc. Every few weeks they have someone go through here who is worth visiting for.
Came here with a group of friends on a Saturday night around 11pm. We got two tables and bottle service. Typically free admission with guest list RSVP and entrance before 11pm, $10 tickets online, or $20-30 at door. Pros: -staff provided kept table stocked with cups and drinks -free coat check Cons: -service staff kept walking through our table area every minute, which was annoying -okay music 95% EDM. but I would have liked a little more variety -water tasted really bad
Went there last night for a friend's birthday and the place was very fun! There is a $20 minimum for a card so be sure to bring cash or order tons of drinks. They played a good variety of music too.
I been to this place a couple of times and it is always super crowded. The DJ's are usually playing good hip hop and top 40's. The decor is super nice. I love the atmosphere there.
