If you have the chance request Autumn Jackson, so considerate and well versed. She has been very helpful in my case development. If her boss is reading this, do what you can to keep her on your team.
This is a great school specializing in criminal justice they have classes for every part of the crime scene stressing with 911 operators to law enforcement to emt and crime scene investigations, it is amazing. I would definitely recommend this high school to anyone interested in this sort of stuff. They also have a great jrotc program!
Excellent school. Training future public service Americans in Law Enforcement and Emergency Medicine. And their US Army JROTC program is only in its 2nd year and they have 18% of the population as cadets. They graduate 100% of the students and I believe 85%+ go on to college, trade school, or the military!
not good. they only care about the reputation rather than the students and teachers. they also have a really big bias towards the le program as other programs get nothing. :/
Excellent School the school principal is awesome always on top of everything great teacher the best
I graduated from vtcta in 2014. I spent all 4 years there and was enrolled in the EMT program. I graduated with my emt basic and0 was hired by a private ambulance company 3 months after graduating. My time at vtcta was mediocre at best. Favoritism of students leads to staff members choosing when to enforce policies and rules, and will often turn a blind eye if a "favorite" of theirs is involved. The management and their performance is unimpressive. Most of the councelors and people involved in public relations are snooty and are elitists, walking around as if they are a gift from god. The law enforcement program is the most advertised program at vtcta and is often the topic of discussion when the management gives tours to visitors. The Telecommunications, EMS, and Crime Scene Analysis programs are often left in the dark, even though these programs are more likely to result in a graduate earning employment in their field study. When i went to vtcta, LE students took LE1 LE2 and criminal justice. Students to my knowledge did not recieve any sort of college credit or certifications/licensures for these courses. You recieve a certificate of completion and a pat on the back. The LE program consisted mostly of memorizing the amendments and 400 codes for 4 years. I think the idea behind the law enforcement program is great, but the execution is poor. It would be more beneficial, in my opinion, for a student to take EMS or Telecommunications, and then go on to receive proper college level criminal justice courses so they may persue a degree. Not only would this increase their chances of acquiring employment with a police department, it would also make them into an extremely well rounded first responder. Overall I enjoyed my time at vtcta. It is a newer school, so they have some work to do and are far from perfect.
Honestly, the school could be better. Vtcta is very biased toward favorites and the law enforcement major is very overrated.
Worst high school experience! Left as soon as possible
Tightly knit community of young people aspiring to public service.
