Helping Veterans to improve their health and well being is a priority for VA research. The purpose of this research study is to learn how tobacco use affects Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms. We welcome participation from Veterans who use tobacco daily and are diagnosed or think they might have PTSD. If so we invite you to participate in a PTSD treatment program at the VA in Jamaica Plain.
This study involves 26 visits over 27 weeks including an in-person screening evaluation followed by either a 3 week tobacco treatment or a 3 week health education treatment. All participants will receive 12 sessions of PTSD treatment. We are able to compensate veterans up to $1045 for their full participation in the study.
We would like the opportunity to describe the study to you in more detail and see if you may qualify. If you would like to hear more about the study, please contact our study coordinator at (857) 364-4158.
