The wait time was a bit long, but i may have gotten there a little early. The veterinarian was great, and the other employees were very kind and helpful. The doctor explained everything in a way that I could easily understand and was very gentle with my cat. They even helped carry my pet/crate out to my car because I had an injury to my wrist, and it was in a brace. I recommend this business.
Our hamster's new veterinarian. Linguine is almost 2 years old and fell ill. She needed senior hamster level care and got it here. We checked her in, and they promptly brought her back, did a full exam, and came back with a very reasonable plan and estimate. She was diagnosed with eye infections and pneumonia. She was prescribed medications, and they've been easy to give. She's home now and is improving. We're very thankful to find a veterinarian who is exceptionally good and who happens to also be a veterinarian who sees exotics such as hamsters. She saved our littlest furbaby's life. We're forever grateful.
I have gone to a few other vets in the area and haven't had a genuinely good experience. Either I can't even go into the office with my dog meaning I've never met the vet and can't ask any questions, or it's like a production line treatment where they give injections and send home with antibiotics and anti-inflammatory and a vet may come out to tell you generally what's going on. My dog has tons of allergies and has been fighting chronic ear infections and I've been given the same antibiotic + anti-inflammatory treatment every time with it never really dealing with whatever the underlying issue was. My previous vet finally told me to just go see a specialist for a double ear canal ablasion surgery extremely invasive and incredibly expensive. I do, and the surgeon suggests I see a dermatologist to see if there's any other treatment available, for the dog's sake. I find Veterinary Medical Associates online and give it a try. OH MY GOODNESS!!! I go into a room where Dr. Jeff introduces himself to me and immediately I am getting more answers and reassurance and an ACTUAL treatment plan than I EVER have in our countless trips to the vet. I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel for my dog. If you're searching for a good vet, you found it.
I brought my geriatric Syrian Hamster Imogene in to VMA with a complaint of acute respiratory distress. She wasn’t previously established at this clinic, but I needed somewhere close by and well regarded who sees small animals. Many clinics do not treat small animals. Imogene was seen by Dr. Wert, and I am so pleased with the care both she and her team provided. I was able to bring her in ASAP under an emergency admit, as Dr. Wert saw the urgency of respiratory distress in a pocket pet. They literally had her checked in, in person, within 30 minutes of my first call to them. The receptionists are delightful and friendly, sharp as tacks, as are the techs. Dr. Wert herself is also delightful and incredibly bright, which comes as no surprise since she got her DVM from UC Davis. She was friendly, frank with me about my hamster’s prognosis, very astute in catching things I hadn’t noticed, thoughtfully compounded the antibiotics to be a convenient volume to give a hamster orally, and generally just seems to really know her stuff. I’ve seen other vets for my mice, rats, rabbit, etcetera, and Dr. Wert is by far my favorite. I’ll be bringing Imogene back to her if she recovers and needs future vet visits and will be recommending her to others, including family, who have exotics. It’s also worth pointing out that they are reasonably priced: I was in and out for less than $330, which included 1 the emergency exam fee, 2 oral antibiotics, 3 eye ointment, 4 a culture. More than fair and a big relief, as the culture is considered elective but allows the team to make sure Imogene is on the correct antibiotic. It gives me so much peace to be able to afford it.
My almost 14 y/o E.S.A. dog, Gomer, had a mild case of kennel-cough, so we went to see Dr Wert. Dr Wert has been Gomers PCP for many years. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly, Trustworthy! Gomer is with me 24 hrs/day and if I had t o leave him there, I know that he would receive the best care possible! THANK YOU V.M.A.!! YOU ROCK!
I brought in a snake with a staph infection and was charged almost a grand for antibiotics and treatment, and the snake did not improve. I went to another vet and was told I was being given the wrong antibiotics, and I was given different medicine and the infection subsided almost immediately. The antibiotics given to my snake were just general antibiotics that didn’t target his specific infection and I emptied my savings for it to just have a different vet give me different meds for not even $100.
Best staff ever! Absolutely professional and knowledgeable from the first phone call. Jennifer was so friendly, and the rest of the staff was the same! They kept me informed all day on how our cat was doing, and she is home with us now. Thank you for making her feel better ! Moosey thanks you as well
Very pleased with my visit to VMA with my little crested gecko who wasn’t so thrilled after a run in with our kitty! The staff fit us into their busy schedule as soon as they possibly could and got my girl taken care of quickly and kindly. Meredith and I are very grateful to the staff and Drs at VMA!
