Description

VIA Birch Bay Cafe and Bistro was opened August 11, 2012. The owners, Yoon and Jefferson Oh had a vision of a cafe that had quality food, yet the average person could afford. To accomplish this, they hired quality people and take an active role in the management of the restaurant themselves.

The restaurant is the only business on the water side of Birch Bay. The sunsets are spectacular. Many customers have commented that they feel like they are on a ship, except it doesn't roll with the sea.

Surveys taken of patrons of the restaurant overwhelmingly feel the food is good. Many have expressed that they feel it is the best food in the area. We at VIA are proud of our food and service. We feel you get true value for your money here.

Stopped in here for lunch, on a whim, hoping to find some decent seafood, especially clam chowder, as that is what my wife wanted. It was a weekday, so it was pretty empty, but we were nonetheless greeted quickly and given great service. We would rate the chowder on par with Ivars, but I think I prefer Ivars. The fish n' chips were deep fried, crispy goodness! The adult serving was three filets, with a heaping of fries, whereas the children's was one filet, but my 11 yr old daughter was filled satisfactorily. Overall, we were pleased with the atmosphere, service, and food.
To everyone visiting Birch Bay... I beg you, don't waste your money here. It only promotes mediocrity. To start, you'll notice the cigarette smell as you walk in. Don't look behind you, it's not someone outside. Look up, it's in the ceiling. The food here is so horrible. It's not even bar food, it's worse. My calamari was overcooked and had zero flavor. I chewed one piece for about a minute. It's unfortunate because my view was nice, even though they couldn't bother to clean the windows and it looked liked 50 people had sneezed on it. Theres a place called Barlean's in Ferndale, just south of Birch Bay. Buy some real seafood and stop paying these people for Sysco garbage. Cook it yourself if you can Worldmark people If you can't, go to the grocery store and buy your cooked food there. At least you know what you're buying and it's way cheaper. The bathrooms in this place are disgusting too. And I'm a guy. I pee in a hole in the wall and I was still grossed out. They only get 2 stars because they have the best location.
feeling a bit violated, 60 bucks for three meals, fit for a 10 year old. my wife and daughter as well as I left hungry, not only small portion but lousy like warmed up in the microwave, never again best thing about that place was the view by far
Soon as we walked in we knew it wasn't going to be good. Place is dirty , stinks, and staff was out smoking instead of working . Avoid at all costs. Sat down and asked if there was clamp chowder available, she went to check but didn't show back up. Said goodbye to her on the way out. This place blows and won't be around too much longer
The general manager was super friendly had great jokes to tell and awesome customer service. The burgers there are top notch. We will be coming back for sure.

Very friendly staff here, great view right over Birch Bay. The draft beer selection should be a bit better with the pales and IPA.
Good food, poor service, long wait for service, no follow up with service, inattentive waitstaff made the meal unsatisfying, for the price my next meal out for steak will be at the Black forest they have excellent service.
Service was fine, but the food was overpriced and decent at best. Great views, but then again so does everywhere else in birch bay. Unimpressed.
No one there still waited to be sat . Took a long time to get drinks soda and finally got our order taken and was never talked to again . We walked out after waiting 30 mins .
