Vicki's Fresh Food Movement works to Cultivate Sustainability though the means Wholesale Regional Food Distribution on the western slope of Colorado.
By improving the quality of food being served within the communities of Telluride, Ridgway & Ouray, money spent on food will go to more responsible and sustainable ranchers and farmers, food miles will decrease, and the quality of meals served to the community members and visitors will increase. By keeping the money spent on food by restaurants within the region, the economy of these communities will improve.
The goal is to promote healthy and active lifestyles for everyone who lives, works, plays, and vacations in these beautiful communities by enhancing the food served in the various dining establishments, all while heightening awareness of where it comes from. This goal will ultimately be to provide greater stability for the farmers and ranchers who provide all of the wonderful sustenance.
Vision:
To be a cultivator of sustainability for communities through sustenance. This sustainability will be produced through cooperation between chefs, restaurant owners, and farmers. These groups of people, along with Vicki’s Fresh Food Movement will share and spread great, healthy, fresh, local food, as well as the importance behind taking care of our land and bodies.
We at Vicki’s Fresh Food Movement believe that everyone has a right to fresh nutritious food. Additionally, those who grow and raise said food deserve thanks and a fair price for their food items. By helping the region of Southwestern Colorado become more self-sufficient and more of a closed loop system, money spent on food will strengthen local economies, raise awareness of the food we eat, shorten food miles, as well as build relationships from the soil to the table.
