The food and dining experience lived up to its excellent reputation! The food was deliciously well seasoned and authentic Cuban. The ambience wonderful and the service impeccable. I initially reserved for 3 but when I arrived I unexpectedly encountered 2 friends. The host was so gracious and offered a larger table to accommodate 5 of us. We were served immediately and on time. We were attending a play on Broadway and had more than enough time to walk to the theater. I highly recommend Victor's Cafe and cannot wait to return to NYC.
We came here on a Saturday night before going to see a show. The location is convenient to many theaters. Our server was fantastic at being mindful of the time and food came out quickly. The atmosphere is fun and feels like you are in a tropical oasis. Another plus is that we did not need reservations, although the restaurant was very full, so we may have gotten lucky. Unfortunately, I disliked the food. I found it bland and either under or over cooked. The seafood paella lacked seasoning. I had shredded pork, which was tough rather than tender. The yuca that came with it was flavorless and mushy. We also had the appetizer sampler which was a let down. The salmon ceviche was the best dish of the night. This seems like a tourist destination. I would come back to try drinks before a show, but would avoid their food.
Dinned here prior to a broadway show; the service was beyond excellent and the timing was perfect. We selected items off of the summer restaurant week menu which was a great value. The ropa vieja, black beans and flan were so good!
The food is tasty and the portions were good. Got what we expected and I don’t get Cuban food very often and not something that I would think of to get in NYC but glad we did. The drinks were good and then Churros! Must get. Very delicious.Recommended dishesFried Plantains, Churros Con Tres Salsas, Croquettes
Romantic setting, excellent service. Very attentive. Made sure we weren't late for our Broadway show. Cuban Food was superb. had Smaller portions but very filling. We had the guava dessert and it did not disappoint.Food: 5/5

Easily 5 stars for food, service, atmosphere, and decor. Darwin provided prompt and friendly service. The roasted pig / lechon asado and ox tail were delicious, as was the guava dessert. Right in the heart of the theater district.Food: 5/5
My family visited Victors last night. May I say, first of all it wasn’t my choice. So I was pleasantly surprised by the service! Excellent! My hat’s off to you. All of the wait staff was attentive to our needs. I left feeling like royalty. I wish you all much health and happiness.
Delicious authentic Cuban food and wonderful service. We came here after a show and had a great time. Definitely try the churros.
