Welcome to the amazing world of bugs! A must-see mini zoo specializing in multi-legged critters from around the world.

Description

The Victoria Bug Zoo provides a look into the amazing world of insects, arachnids, and their relatives. Come in and discover over 40 species of bugs including giant walking sticks, beautiful praying mantis, glow-in-the-dark scorpions, and Canada's largest ant colony. Bug tour guides provide a safe and fun bug handling experience for the more adventurous. If you are in Victoria, be sure to stop by for this many-legged adventure!

Our gift shop has unique gifts for visitors of all ages. Pick up a fun book, stuffy, local hand-crafted gift, or even some edible bugs!

The Bug Zoo's party room is available for rental for birthday parties, staff parties, or any other bug loving get-together! Call or email for more information.

"The Victoria Bug Zoo is a mini zoo located in the heart of downtown Victoria. We specialize in live tropical insects and arachnids. Don't worry if bugs are not your thing, our wonderful tour guides are very adept at coaching the nervous into thinking about these amazing animals in a whole new light. We have tour guides available in the zoo all day long, they go around showing off our spectacular animals and letting the more adventurous hold them in a safe fun environment. Plan for at least an hour in the zoo if you want to get the most out of your experience.We also take bookings for birthday parties, school groups and we even have an outreach program to bring the animals to your event or your school."

Heads up, summer is REALLY busy. Other than that, 10/10 experience!!! If you follow along with the tour is constant and circling around the room so you can jump in/out as you’d like you can hold certain bugs! The employees are incredibly kind and informative, and even have employee-handmade items in the gift shop! Which are beautiful btw, I bought some adorable clay slug earrings If you’re in the area, ABSOLUTELY worth a visit!!!
Bug Zoo is amazing! If you or your kids love bugs - best place to check out! They have bugs I have never seen except on TV! You can hold the bugs which is such an experience! The guide is very knowledge! All staff is very friendly and gift shop is stocked with amazing things for any age!
My daughter and I had a fantastic time at the bug zoo. It’s a bit smaller than I was expecting but there are a lot of bugs to see! My favorite part of the zoo were the people. I’ve genuinely never went to a place where every single person working there seemed like they found their calling. The workers are passionate about bugs and it shows! It was such a fun experience for my little one learn and touch some bugs!

Very nice bug zoo showcase lots of insects and bugs which we never seen before. They have staff sometime they take out the insects and you can interact with them very nice experience. From visiting here we know how important it is to preserve the environment we living in because those bugs are performing important roles on the ecosystem. Ticket is not very expensive but what you get from it is definitely more than the value of ticket itself for sure.
My son kept asking me to go to the bug zoo, so we took the ferry from Port Angeles to visit. It's not very big couple rooms but the educators are very passionate and the kids get the chance to hold some insects. What a great place to visit with or without kids. Our group - 6 adults enjoyed our experience very much. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a warm welcome and once we were ready we were taken to another room with all the creapy crawlies. At the time they had 2 lovely ladies explaining and answering any and all questions from visitors. Both ladies loved what they did as they talked with such love and passion for the animals which made me very comfortable being around spiders and other crawly critters. I would definitely recommend the Bug Zoo!
Two small rooms about exhibiting different species of bugs charging ~$50 for two adults and one kid. No offence, but a lot of the exhibition boxes were empty in construction, however it is a bit much for not so much content. The gift shop was bigger than the exhibition rooms

My partner and I had a great time visiting the bug zoo. I was amazed by how much information our guide Grey was able to teach us in a pretty short visit. The bugs were all very cool and only a little bit scary but it was obvious how well they are taken care of by the very passionate staff members. I was very happy to get to hold some bugs, my favourite was the Thorny Devil because her feet tickled my hands. I also loved the gift shop, they had so much cool stuff in there in a wide variety of price ranges.
