Despite a rough start, we ended up enjoying our stay at this hotel. We arrived on the late ferry. So, we got to the hotel around 11pm. They had our room. But, it was on the western side of the hotel, above a nightclub. The noise was so load when we walked into the room that we went back downstairs to get a new room. After 30 minutes of haggling, hey did accommodate us and moved us to a larger room on the eastern end. We offered to move the next day and they put us in a smaller, but still upgraded room on the quieter side. What we loved was the cleanliness and location. It is close to everything in central Victoria. We used the valet car parking 30 Canadian dollars as the other option is street parking. The valet was worth every penny. Parked safely, in and out privilege, prompt service. The room was very clean and comfortable. The only complaint is that the towels were very thin and scratchy. All in all, we would definitely return to this Best Western. Food & drinks: The hotel did not have a restaurant, but off the lobby was a great spot for breakfast. Location is great, as what they say on their website, heart of Downtown Victoria. The front desk guy is very nice, greeting everytime when you go in and out, and provided suggestions about visiting the town. Room is pretty clean, exceeding my expectations, although it's not big on size, but it comes with everything you need, and surprisingly the beds come with night light on top, which is a kind of sweet detail. I booked it as I saw the good reviews on Google Maps, and I'm happy with my stay tonight, and it will be the best experience on my family trip from Alberta to BC, will stay here again if I visit Victoria. Rooms: Room is tidy and comfortable.
Best service. Was there before check-in, and they allowed us in early. Which was great with luggage. We wanted to see the site. On top of that, they upgraded us to suite at no additional charge. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Clean and well kept. They placed us on a quiet side of the building, and the staff was exceptional. Thank you so much. It was my first visit, and I loved everything about it. Rooms: Suite had a kitchen, pull out couch, which was surprisingly comfortable. Clean Nearby activities: So many stores, shops, restaurants, and historic lists are endless Safety: I felt safe, no worries Walkability: Blocks and blocks of places to visit Food & drinks: Just walk a block in any direction the choices are endless
One of the best staff I have ever met, totally beyond my expectations! They were very kind and considerate, and really cared about my experience in the hotel. When I need something, e.g. a glass cup or shaving stuff, they just provided to me *in a timely manner*. Plus, the location is super! Within walking distance I had many great food.
Very nice room and friendly staff. Giving 2 stars because it's on top of a night club that is loud past 2am. We paid over $250 a night cad after taxes and couldn't sleep with club and street noise. Otherwise clean and comfortable room, but doesn't really matter with the noise. Nearby activities: Loud club on the ground floor.
This is our new benchmark for motels. From housekeeping to reception, they made our stay excellent. Loved the bottled water!! Location was perfect and we utilized their secured parking. If I had even a minor request, it would be an in room clock and maybe a microwave.Rooms: 5/5
A gem of a hotel if you can manage a little bit of noise. My husband was working out of town in Victoria so my son and I decided to tag along and get a vacation out of it at the same time. The hotel location is amazing. It is walking distance to basically everything. It is located on a busier street so you can hear the road noise in your room. The hotel is aware of this and kindly provides earplugs for those this may affect. My son is 7 months old and the noise did not disrupt his sleep or routine. I personally did not find the noise too bad. The staff at this hotel was incredible. They were all beyond kind. The parking arrangement is valet only and they always had my husbands truck ready to go for him every morning. Super quick and efficient if we hadn’t previously scheduled it…however with everything in walking distance we didn’t find we used it in the evening. The room was clean and had everything provided. House cleaning is based on request instead of everyday…which worked well for our situation.
We stayed here knowing we'd be doing some walking so the location wasn't a huge deal to us. If you're not super mobile, I'd suggest a hotel closer to the wharf. It's really just a 10 min. walk to the waterfront if you're going straight there. Ruby's next door is a great place for breakfast and prices are reasonable. The rooms are on the smaller side NYC size but they are well appointed and freshly updated. I'd easily stay here again. Even better, the service can't be beat! Everyone was just so nice!
