Weekly training sessions and meetings are held every Monday evening from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.
The VHFD is currently accepting applications for probationary firefighter candidates. All applicants must be a minimum of eighteen(18) years of age and must reside within fifteen(15) minutes response time to the fire station. All applicants must possess a valid Illinois drivers license at the time of application. All applicants will be subjected to a comprehensive background check by local law enforcement agencies. Pending application approval by the VHFD board of directors, all successful applicants will be placed on a mandatory six(6) month probationary period during which the candidate will be required to attend ALL scheduled meetings and/or training sessions.
