The Village of Los Lunas Recreation Division offers good quality and diverse youth and adult programming, several parks, indoor &outdoor sports facilities, and great special events, with a variety of services for the whole family. Our commitment to the public is to provide excellent service by promoting quality of life services and programss for the well being of the community young and old.
This division manages the daily operations of the following facilities; The Los Lunas Visitors Center located at3445 Lambros Loop provides free visitor guides to potential visitors and people requesting information about relocating to the area,information also available at 751 Juan Perea Rd. Daniel Fernandez Youth Center; a public recreation facility located inside Daniel Fernandez Memorial Park. The Daniel Fernandez Youth Center houses a basketball gym, weight room, aerobics room, and offices. The Fred Luna Senior Center located at 225 Don Pasqual Rd is a facility that offers a variety of activities for the older citizens in our community. Lastly it manages the various sports complexes located throughout Los Lunas for use to play softball, soccer, volleyball, ect.
The village organizes and supports various events throughtout the year that attract visitors from all over like, The Route 66 Rodders Swap Meet, Annual Health Fair, Easter Egg Hunt, Summer Fest, 4th of July Parade and Festivities, Valencia County Kennel Club Dog Show, Business Expo, New Mexico Council of Cars Swap Meet, Haunted House, Christmas Light Parade
Due to the extensive use of Village park facilities this division requires a permit in reserving a park for company socials, weddings, and community events. Reservation for birthday parties, family picnic’s are not required; however check with this office (352-3584) before you plan your family gathering due to pre-reserved community events. Information on fees for reserving or renting a facility can be obtained by contacting The Los Lunas Visitor Center. Understand there are rules and regulations in using park/open space facilities that need to be followed; larger community events require a special event permit that require more detailed information.
