I regret that I took my dad there. In fact he died there. Two days after I filed a complaint of no one informing me that he needed xray on his arm and them leaving him wet. He had dementia. Look if a facility is under staff DO NOT HAVE ROOMS AVAILABLE. I relied on care for my dad and fir him to die one day before he was supposed to be released. Make sure they have enough staff before bring your love one to a rehab.
My mother was at this facility for 4 weeks. The care she received there was exceptional. The staff is very caring & friendly. Her therapy enabled her to return to her own home with help. The facility is well taken care of. It was decorated so cheerful over the holidays. I would highly recommend this center.
Clean facility, residents look well cared for, staff are always pleasant and courteous. And they arrange for pet therapy for the residents and staff.
My mother in law was a patient in Village Point Rehab for several weeks this past year. I am writing this review to express my deepest gratitude to the team at Village Point for the exceptional care they provided to my Mother in law. Everyone on the team was so caring and professional at all times. !I was so impressed with them despite the trying times from this pandemic that everyone showed up with a smile and a willingness to stop what they were doing and help when it was needed. !I would recommend this place to anyone that needs rehab and looking for a place to have their loved one rehab. Five stars no doubt!!
If I can help one family benefit from my family’s experience this will be worth it. The one star is for the medical staff. They try hard to help. The administrative staff is there to see how they could get Medicare funds. They don’t care if VP is the right facility for the patient. My husband was admitted to VP rehab on Dec.30, 2021. He suffered a brain bleed stroke that left him paralyzed on left side. I had his chart sent over from Penn Medicine where he had been for a month. I met personally with admissions to tour facility and see if they were able to handle a stroke patient with his needs. They said they reviewed his chart and they could give him the care and rehab he required. They lied. They are in no way capable of handling patients with this degree of needed care. Rehab is limited to patients recovering from surgery or heart attack. They do not have the resources to handle brain injury cases. All I ask is why not be honest and suggest my husband might benefit from a specialized facility? Encompass, jfk, Kessler to name a few no one told me all sub acute facilities are not the same. Precious time has been lost in terms of rehab . Another point that has to be mentioned is that my husband did not receive a shower in the two months he was at VP. I think there’s a health law that applies to this Why? I kept pressing the staff that he needed a shower. If you are not mobile they don’t have the proper shower chair or trained staff to shower the patient - liability issue. If they had been honest with me my husband might have benefited from the proper facility. By the time I realized my mistake, it was too late to transfer him to one of the above mentioned facilities.so do your homework when you consider this facility for anything more than light rehab.%
Shady place. My father was here and it was my greatest regret. The facility looks nice and they act nice to make sure your loved one gets comfortable, but their attitude quickly changes. Your loved one will never be seen by an actual doctor md. They will lie and say they have a psychiatrist on staff and a physician but it’s only nurse practitioners, who prescribe questionable things. They prescribe dangerous amounts of antipsychotics to keep the elderly quiet. They make fake diagnoses on charts to increase the revenue/billing. They also falsely lie and state that insurance doesn’t cover services like transport, and regular pt. The social workers are no better. All this facility cares about is looking pretty to keep their bottom line. They just let patients decline here and do the bare minimum. The administration is no better and will also tell you lies. When I asked my fathers medical records they tried to say they don’t give them out. But that is a total hippa violation and is extremely illegal. They will try to pull the wool over your eyes. Anyone who needs long term services—be knowledgeable about the law. They think you don’t know it and will definitely say anything to not spend any extra money and cover themselves. This place is a profit over patient facility. I would recommend you take your loved one somewhere else. They will not be treated well and will not be protected. It is my deepest regret that my father was here.
Village Point took amazing care of my mother, the building is beautiful and clean. Staff was amazing and attentive. From admission to discharge everyone was kind and professional. Admissions went out of her way to make sure my mom arrived on time and had everything she needed. Nurses and nurses aides were friendly and helpful. Therapists were amazing with getting my mother motivated to get better. Everyone came by to say farewell to my mother as she was discharged. If I could give Village point more than 5 stars I would. I would recommend this place to family, friends and anyone looking for exceptional care for their loved one. Thank you Village Point, Eileen D.
The website for this place shows a beautiful and welcome facility. Unfortunately the administration at this place needs to get their act together. Many issues with staffing at this facility. In addition to administrative staff is always constantly changing or leaving.Poor management of it's employees. Nurse station hardly ever answers the phone there nor do they return voicemails. Their phone system there is a disaster that needs technical maintenance. Phones in residents rooms have hard time calling out. A problem that needs immediate resolvement externally and internally.Their seems to be a lack of concern with the employees at this facility for it's residents. The staffing at this facility should be monitored by the state for at least 6 months to get the place operating orderly and correctly. Very unfortunate to have to write this review as having a loved one here gives me no choice but to do so. Village Point get your act together. We are watching you!!!
This facility is staffed by professionals whose care and compassion goes above and beyond my expectations. The administrative staff is readily available to assist with any needs or special requests and are well informed on the myriad of regulations that control the operation of these types of facilities. The nurses and health aides truly care for their clients and those in the memory unit have helped my mother regain most of her cognitive skills after a debilitating stroke. I highly recommend this facility for anyone in need of care of a loved one.
While Village Point is aesthetically pleasing, their staff has a lot to be desired! Safety is obviously not a priority as my family member’s wheelchair was never locked. My family member uses pads yet they made her wear diapers.... which is the height of laziness!! When my family member needed to be changed in the morning, the night aid had the nerve to tell my family member he had changed her enough and she had to wait for the day shift. My head just about popped off my head and I had to speak to the head nurse. Things got a little better but my family member was afraid to be there. I got her out of there!!
