The official Facebook page for the Vineland Historical and Antiquarian Society, the oldest local historical society in New Jersey, founded in 1864. The Society is not affiliated with any other historical organization or government agency.
The Society's museum collections reflect many aspects of American history, and include 19th century art, glassware, photographs, clothing, Native American artifacts and Civil War memorabilia. The museum is open for tours on Saturdays between 1 and 4 p.m.; weekday visits (whether for tours or research) are by appointment only.
The Society's mission is to protect, preserve, and share the collections with visitors through tours and programs to help them learn more about Vineland's rich past.
VHAS is open for public tours on Saturdays, which are offered at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. There is a $1 per person charge for visitors over 12 years of age. Group tours are available during the week but reservations must be made at least one week in advance. Researchers must contact the Society at least one week in advance to schedule an appointment, which are usually made between Tuesdays and Fridays from 1-4 p.m. Please call for further information.
