Atmosphere is great, service is usually very good, the food can be very good or very average...it just depends. Raw oysters are usually up to par, crab legs can be hit or miss, american bar food is usually solid. On nice days/evenings sitting outside overlooking the water is a bonus. You can also boat to the restaurant and beach on the sand if there is room.
Food: Don't come here for the food. Don't even come here if you're hungry. Come here if you're starving and anything will do, but most of all come here because you're looking for a cheaper meal to eat on the lake. Decor: Outdoor seating with a view of the lake, what more can you ask for? I've never sat indoors. Why would you? Service: This is one of those restaurants that gets repeat business because of the young attractive servers that work here. The girls who serve you here are a cup size away from hooters, but still very pretty.
Bland food. I have lived in Mooresville for 3 year and drive by this place 3-4 times a day and never went there primarily because of the bad reviews. Well last night I finally took the leap to see if the reviews are true..and in a nutshell I have to say they are dead on right! This place is terrible!!!!!! Since I was solo I sat at the bar. First off the place seems to have no AC and on the hottest day of the year so far 96F it was not a pleasant place to be! It was like someone had turned on a bunch of cheap fans and was just blowing around the hot air!!! While waiting at the bar for my food the person next to me ordered a 2nd draft beer and made the comment, "They must be really hard up for cash!" I asked why and he pointed to the bartender pouring his 2nd draft beer in the same glass! Not a huge deal but who wants a warm glass for their beer when they wold prefer a nice cold one on a hot day, not to mention in a HOT restaurant!!! Then as we sit there BSing the events of the day we witness ants crawling across the bar...WTH?!? The guy next to me also ordered some clam chowder soup...I'm assuming it was pretty bland as he dumped half a bottle of hot sauce on the soup after his first tasting. He stated that the oysters were pretty good however he nor I ordered them. I ordered a beer and the red beans and rice with Chicken...I can verify that my food was bland and had no flavor at all!!! I was also reaching for the hot sauce to give it some sort of flavor! All in all the place has a GREAT location on the lake..however the chef needs to be fired!! The menu isn't bad from a stand point of variety and menu appealing dishes the point of failure is in the execution of those dishes. The wait staff from what I could tell seemed to be VERY busy so they are all doing something but they need some help from those behind the doors/bar!! If your going to go here, go for the drinks and that's probably about it! I wouldn't waste my time ordering any food at all you will be disappointed!!
Should be shut down by the Board of Health, no soap or towels in the bathroom how does the staff clean their hands? Food was horrible, fish and chips looked like a battered fish skin and clam chowder looked like lumpy barf. This restaurant needs a good bath.
Very sad ,very poor excuse for a manager he is simply a joke ! They could not afford to accept a $20.00 coupon we bought on line . The so called manager did not have the ability to tell the truth ! Truth being lack of True management and very poor ownership. They could not afford to accept the $20 coupon we bought. The owner Billy would not even look at us . They can't afford food . No calabash and no I repeat No oysters at a oyster Bar what a shity way to treat your town ! What a joke they have made out of a one time land mark. But Billy enjoyed his free shots at the bar ! I am embarrassed that they are in Mooresville.
The food is OK, but hell: that is not why you go here... A fine spot in the summer to sit out on their back porch overlooking the lake; however, not a whole lot see in the winter time.
The service and food is so so. But the outdoor seating on a nice day is great.
