The Vinton Police Department consists of twenty-three sworn officers and two civilian employees. Divisions in the department include Patrol, Investigations, Professional Standards, Animal Control, Services and Administration.
The Vinton Police Department is available at all times to enforce laws and other community needs and we encourage the public to contact us in time of need; if you have an emergency, please dial 911. The communications center can be reached on the non-emergency line at 540-562-3265.
The mission of the Vinton Police Department is to improve the quality of life by preserving the peace and safety of the community through the formation of partnerships, creating positive interaction between the public and the police while continuing to serve the unique needs of the Town of Vinton.
