Review: We recently had the most exceptional eye care experience at Vision Source Rio. From the moment we walked into the clinic, we was greeted with a warm and friendly smile by the staff. The reception area was clean, comfortable, and had a welcoming ambiance. The entire staff, from the front desk to the optometrists, was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and attentive. My mother had an eye emergency and they fit her in quickly. They took the time to listen to her concerns and addressed them with utmost care. The optometrist conducted a thorough eye examination, explaining each step in detail and answering all her questions patiently. The optometrist recommended a personalized treatment plan based on her specific needs and educated her about preventive measures to maintain good eye health. Their expertise and genuine care for their patients was evident in every interaction. We cannot emphasize enough how impressed we were with the level of service, professionalism, and care provided by Vision Source Rio. They went above and beyond to ensure her visit was comfortable and that she received the best possible eye care. Getting my yearly eye exam at Vision Source Rio is a MUST for me. Most comprehensive & thorough exam possible & everything is explained & shared. Everyone is caring & professional. Office is clean & comfortable. They don’t push for you to fill your prescription with them although they have a beautiful selection & price range of frames. And they accept & honor my insurance.
An amazing office altogether. When you walk in you immediately feel welcomed and wanted. The office is bright, comfortable and homey. The staff is incredible and their attention to detail is far and above the norm. We have never had as detailed and thorough if an eye exam ever and they explain everything to you step by step. Highly recommend them for all of your optical needs!

Specially I want to thank Dr Amanda Estrada taking the time to talk to me and explain everything to me. her Assistant Caroline did all my testing.thank you so much for your care and patience with me. I came in for my first visit to update my glasses, and everyone was so nice and helpful! I even threw a wrench in the system and asked to change my frames the next morning, and I believe it was Marla, who called the lab to make sure they hadn't cut my lenses yet so I could switch!! I was extremely grateful. Definitely will continue to make my eye appointments here!
The folks in the office have always been very nice and showed great patience with me while trying out contacts. That said, I've recently had an unsatisfactory experience that left a bad taste and the impression that the business is poorly managed. In September, I had my eyes checked and paid my $20 deductible. I returned for a follow-up 1 month later and did not pay a deductible nor was I told about any outstanding balance. Fast forward to May and I receive, to my surprise, a letter from a debt collector saying I owe a measly $88 to vision source. They never bothered to call, text, email, or send a letter. I was in the office after the first claim had been processed and they never mentioned I had a balance. Instead, they pay a debt collector to send me a letter over this bill. All they had to do was call and let me know. Good thing medical debt doesn't impact ones credit or I would have been much more disappointed. Still unlikely I will return though. If one is this incompetent with their money, can I trust them with my health?
The staff were very nice and competent. Dr. Jennifer Planitz was very thorough and explained what she was looking at on the computer. I would recommend to friends and family.
These folks really know how to take care of their customers/patients. Dr Clatanoff and his staff are the consummate professionals. Their friendliness and willingness to assist each and every individual that comes to them for eye care is without comparison. This is the reason that I have continued to come to them for my vision care for the past several years and I will for many years to come.
I recently had an unfortunate experience at Vision Source Rio that left me thoroughly disappointed with their customer service and the level of patient care provided. From start to finish, my encounter with this establishment was riddled with negligence and a lack of empathy, leading me to question their commitment to the well-being of their patients. My experience is as follows: I called the clinic on 6/26 to order more contact lenses and was informed by the receptionist I was due for an eye exam as my prescription expires on 6/30, I requested to be scheduled as soon as possible and was told the next available appointment was in 2 months. I find a 2 month wait for an existing patient unacceptable. I was then transferred to another line to see if I could order more and left a message requesting to order more lenses and my call was never returned. I finally went into the office on 7/14 and requested to order contacts and was told that my prescription expired 6/30 and I explained I would have been more than happy to come in before the expiration but was never informed I was due for an eye exam and had an expiring prescription. All while being treated like I was in the wrong. She finally told me she would be able to order one box but no more going forward which I understand as I have an upcoming appointment. When I asked how long the contact lenses take to come in she told me 1-1.5 weeks, when I asked for a pair to last me until then she said she has nothing to give me. She asked if I had a back up pair of glasses and I told her I do but they are not adequate for use. Given this information she was still not willing to give me a temporary pair of contacts. I have been to many professional medical offices and never in my life have I been treated so poorly as a patient. The poor customer service, coupled with the negligent patient care, left me questioning the competency and dedication of the staff. I sincerely hope that this establishment takes immediate action to rectify these issues and prioritize the well-being of their patients, as nobody should have to endure such subpar treatment in a medical setting.
Everyone in the Vision Source office was very welcoming, friendly, and professional. The office was clean and comfortable. Each step of the exam prior to seeing Dr. Estrada was explained and my questions fully answered by staff. Dr. Estrada was very informative while going over results of various tests and reviewed the results with me, showing me on screen what she looks at and what it means, making sure I understood each aspect of the exam. All of these things are very important to me. So glad my daughter referred me!
