Vista House at Crown Point is an Oregon State Park, historical landmark, and viewpoint, with lower level exhibits, espresso, and a high quality gift shop.
Vista House at Crown Point is an Oregon State Park, historic building, and famous viewpoint located in the gorgeous Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Friends of Vista House is a non-profit group that works in partnership with Oregon State Parks, and operates a quality gift shop and espresso bar on the building’s lower level, and also provides information to visitors.
The building is much bigger on the inside than it may appear from the outside, and there are three levels: the main floor, or rotunda, where visitors can get interpretive information from FOVH volunteers and park rangers, the upper level balcony where you will experience panoramic views of the Columbia River Gorge, unrivaled by any other gorge viewpoint, and the lower level, where visitors will find gorgeous marble bathrooms, a museum and interpretive exhibits, an excellent gift shop offering local and handcrafted goods, as well as souvenir items, and an espresso shop that serves local, sustainable, and high quality beverages.
Vista House was originally built as a rest stop for travelers, and it is also an observatory and a memorial to the pioneers of Oregon. The building is ADA accessible, and is easy to get to from Interstate-84; simply take exit 22 to Corbett. Vista House is an ideal first stop on a trip through the Gorge. Here you can grab a coffee, a souvenir, and a couple maps or brochures, get your perfect Gorge view photo, and then simply continue down the scenic historic highway to pass by dozens of spectacular waterfalls, including the famous Multnomah Falls, located only 8.5 miles past Vista House. Come on out and visit Vista House and the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, we can’t wait to see you!
