If you need oxygen to walk or live, doctors cannot give a walk test because your oxygen is 88, viva WILL NOT cover it, Viva is the worst insurance I have ever seen!!!if you need a band aid they will cover that maybe!!!
Viva has been wonderful and has saved me a lot of money! Dori Evans is very nice and helpful and knowledgeable! Thanks!
I love Viva Health Medicare Advantage Plan because they care about their members.
I have only been with Viva since December 1, 2022. I noticed one person who posted commented they believed any negative reviews were false. I will let you decide after you read my "review.' I will be back with Blue Advantage on January 1, 2023. December 7th was the last day in this period to make changes. I had already chosen to go with Viva Healthcare based on their five star rating by Medicare. I was lucky that I needed refills in early December. I was flooded with letters stating I had not received prior authorization from Viva, though I was told by both the Sales Representative for Viva and Viva "Customer Service" that I would be able to do so for the first 90 days of my coverage. Fortunately, Viva change me over to them, without my consent effective December 1, 2022. It is true, that I qualify for assistance from Medicaid to pay my part B premium. I am not sure that Viva "was forced by Medicare to make my coverage effective December 1st 2022. My personal experience with Viva has been a negative experience. I am anemic along with a host of other medical problems. I am to start iron infusions in January, thank God, I will be covered by Blue Advantage at that time. I have had issues with Blue Advantage in the past, however it was easily resolved. Prescription drugs that required Prior authorization I would have to contact them about and ask for a quick decision on appeal were almost always settled in less than 48 hours, excluding weekends and holidays. I have gotten one authorization on a medication from Viva by phone, only to receive a denial in a letter dated December 8, 2022. I will have to pay for that medication out of pocket as I can't get wait for Viva to get their decisions straight. I need the medication now. Another problem I have with Viva with their "member support." Their seems to be a lot of confusion among their representatives. I can call three different representatives and receive three different answers, including what medications are listed in their formulary, or "that medication should not even be in their formulary and they never cover it, I was hung up on in that conversation because the representative said she could not hear me. I had difficulty hearing her too. The conversation finally ended with "sir, it is too hard to hear you, goodbye. My third phone call on that day, I first confirmed the representative could hear me, as I started seeking an answer to my question, I was constantly interrupted and told to call my Doctor. My Doctor is a provider for Viva, not a customer service person for Viva. They don't seem to know their own coverage, they do emphasize their 5 star rating. I could go on, but it is more of the same. They send many duplicate letters, books about their coverage, letters about mistakes in their printed coverage, and lots of coverage for 2022 then they insist it is as accurate for 2023. I received their "evidence of coverage for 2023 yesterday December 10, 2022, along with a pharmacy directory and a 2023 formulary. It is not the "same coverage as 2022." Their evidence of coverage also in includes many pages that can only be partially read and some that can't be read because the printing on those pages is bad due to low ink or some other defect. I am thankful that I was still able to change my coverage to Blue Advantage. I did like the lower co pays shown by Viva. But, in my case, the higher co pays of Blue Advantage is safer to my health and piece of mind. You may have had a better experience with Viva, It is only December 11, 2022. Eleven days of coverage with Viva. I have no confidence in them. I hope all of their other customers are or will receive better care.
I went with Viva for two reasons. First their 5 Star rating and they are tied to my local Hospital. I listed all my medications when applying and discussed with the agent. I thought everything was good until my first prescription claim. Three were denied, now we are talking about prescriptions that I have been talking for several years and no other company has ever questioned anyone of them. Now my time is being wasted reading their denial letters and decided if I should go back to Humana. I am even receiving notices of amounts I will have to pay after they have paid. Never had these problems with United Health Care, Cigna or Humana. My medication has not changed in 10 years. Maybe others will have better luck with them but don’t believe what the agent might tell you. For instance I called about one and they said they had reevaluated and were going to cover. LOL 5 days later I received a denial in the mail.
Have a friend going through cancer treatments. She was told by doctors at 2 different cancer research hospitals that she needed Proton radiation therapy. Viva denied this coverage even after appeal. BEWARE - They won't cover the treatment you need to save your life! They are ok for day to day, but if you have something serious come up, they don't care whether you live or die or have long term effects.
Viva services have been okay. I was recently given incorrect information regarding my over the counter benefits. This information caused me to lose my quarterly over the counter benefits. I contacted the Viva administrative office, they could not return the benefits that were lost. This was devastating to me because I’m in need of certain items covered under this plan. Although it was no fault of mine, but a company error I am left without needed items. Please be cautious.
Viva UAB denied Dr ordered radiation and called it experimental. This radiation has been FDA approved since the 80s. Viva had my other rating removed.
This company deserves 10 stars. They always exceed my expectations. I can't count the number of times they've stepped in and come to my aid. VIVA is the best and my agent even visited me when I had surgery. I can't imagine anyone giving them a bad review that's legitimate. I know quite a few people with VIVA and they're all very happy. Great coverage, everyone is extremely helpful and courteous. I couldn't find a better insurance company.
Viva has on several occasions been contacted by myself or my doctor to extend coverage of a med i required or approve medication that was not included on my plan.I am able to choose my own physician or see a specialist of my choice! I am very pleased with VIVA HEALTH at this time!
