I was in Pensacola Florida after many years and my friends helped me revisit my old favorite places and some newly opened local favorites. One such place was VooDoo BBQ. I love BBQ and Cajun food and expectations set did not disappoint. I ordered the graveyard platter with brisket and chicken. I also tasted the chicken salad and BBQ shrimp and loved them. Glad I discovered this restaurant and looking forward to my next visit.
Had to come out and taste test this place. Especially since the roomy was down for getting me a bday meal. Picked up the shrimp poboy, brisket poboy, red beans n rice, gumbo, and jambalaya. Got to say the brisket poboy and red beans n rice is pretty on point. 5 stars The shrimp poboy was pretty good. 4/5 The rest is eh.... Got to top my gumbo and jambalaya to make me raise an eyebrow. It's good mind you, but not as good as mine and that's the only reason it's getting knocked down. 2/5 Would still come back to try the rest of the menu.
Honestly everything was really good. The chopped brisket and pulled pork melt in your mouth, the chicken is moist, and the sausage is also spot on. The sides and desserts are also fantastic. Also the service was fantastic as well.Food: 5/5
We enjoyed a late lunch on Saturday. Usually I get the fried shrimp poboy and it's a meal and half for me. This time I went for the shrimp tater. It was good, although next time I may ask for the shrimp blackened. I asked for the bbq butter, and it was pretty much just plain. We also had the 2 meat combo platter aka "Graveyard platter" with pulled pork and ribs. Both meats were tender and delicious, especially with the Mango Crystal bbq sauce. I usually prefer the greens or the corn pudding. For the two sides we had sweet potato and baked beans. Nothing special but tasty. For dessert we tried the beignets. They were a little under fried but served hot and covered in powdered sugar. All in all a good meal to fill us up before our Target run.
Love love love! ..If you are looking for a spot that has a welcoming atmosphere with down home cooking AND is family friendly, Oh this is the one! The vibe is always on point, the food is great, and the staff is absolutely amazing. With a variety of choices, even the pickiest eaters will not be disappointed. Grab a table, a booth, or window seat and eat up because it is also affordable honey!
Red beans and rice were amazing! Really flavorful. Pulled pork was dry but still tasty. The cashier/waitress was kind and helpful as well as a man in BOH who helped answer a few questions we had. I was impressed with the portion size, especially for the price. My family left FULL. The music was too loud for me, but that’s neither here nor there. Will definitely be back. And I’m already trying to find an excuse to get a gallon of the red beans and rice!
Heard a lot about this place. Figured my wife and I would give it a shot. I was immediately disappointed with my experience. As soon as he told me my total. For two people it was $50. The portion is that we got they speak for themselves. Very small. The food was mediocre and the portions were small especially for the price point. Being that Pensacola is so close to New Orleans, We have actually had New Orleans barbecue and spent much less than that and fed two people and had the real deal. This is what happens when corporate America takes over a barbecue joint in franchises it out. The staff was friendly and attentive. That was the only positive. The atmosphere was okay. The tables were clean. But really just the whole turn off was the price point and the amount of food that we got for that. You can see the enclosed pictures and judge for yourself. If you want barbecue your best bet is going to a mom and pop joint that is local
Went to voodoo on my lunch break wasn’t in the best mood for a silly reason and after telling the kid at the counter about it he brought me a cookie to make my day better it did in fact. Great food and service! Thank you!
As a first time customer, I thought this place was good. I ordered the chicken tender kids meal for my child. The chicken was very tender and moist! The fries were good as well. They weren't soaked in oil or overly salty like other places. I also ordered spicy pork rinds to go. They were so crisp and seasoned to my husband's liking. Better than store bought ones! So far, good experience.
Voodoo catered our company award celebration where we had 50 employees in attendance. The food was the talk of the event. The Voodoo manager was extremely helpful and made sure the spread looked professional. The setup was smooth and all food was perfectly presented and ready on time. It was absolutely delicious and was plenty for 50 aircraft maintainers. Our team will only be using Voodoo for all our BBQs. Thank you Voodoo!!
