Bowling- the perfect way to have some fun, get off your tush, and stay cool. This bowling alley looks a bit rough from the parking lot but the inside does not disappoint. We had our own ball and shoes so it was very inexpensive. We just hadn’t bowled in a while. But that will be changing. It was so much fun. I laughed a lot!
We took my two grandkids ages 2 and 6. The staff is great there. They have the bumper lanes available. The 2 year old used the dragon to simply roll the ball. Very clean . Great place to go and spend an hour bowling. It cost us 30.00 for 1 round for 4 people plus shoes.
Can’t really say anything negative about this place. First few frames pin setter kept freezing, although they fixed and it was perfect for the rest of the time. Bowled my best game, too. Pretty cheap games, well kept lanes, and a pro shop. Can’t get better than this!
We came on a Sunday morning, right when they opened. The cost per game for bowling on a Sunday is very cheap, in comparison to other locations, especially if you bring your own bowling shoes. The lanes were great, and I bowled one of the best games I’ve ever bowled. Ample seating that makes for a great hangout place as well. They also have an area that you can buy food and drinks at. We got corndog nuggets and a sweet tea, and the prices were very reasonable. The food came out relatively quickly, and it was great. I really enjoyed coming here, and would definitely return for another game!
I haven't went bowling in 15 years. I met up with a church group to bowl a few games. Prices were very reasonable and the condition of the lanes and everything was pretty good. Sure it's stuck in the 90s like most bowling alleys are but that gives it charm for us old people lol.
We came here with a group of 6 and purchased a 2 hour package. The lane we were on repeatedly had issues and was shutting down, and by the end of the hour we were only part of the way through our first game. They offered to switch us to another lane, but we decided to just go elsewhere because other lanes were also having issues. Before leaving I asked if we could just be charged for just 1 game for everyone plus the cost of shoes, instead of the $70 deal for 2 hours we paid for. This seems perfectly reasonable, if not generous given all of the issues. The cashier said she'd pass the request along to the manager. 2 days later, and I just got a call from the manager offering an hour of free bowling, but no refund. When I asked her why, she said they couldn't do any type of refund because it had to be done within two days of my card being charged. Convenient of them to call almost exactly 48 hours after our bowling session. Holiday weekend or not, that's unacceptable. The offer also feels cheap even for what it is given that we weren't even offered a full 2 hours; just the 1 hour we had leftover from when we left early, and at least 1/2 of that first hour was just us sitting around waiting for them to fix the lane anyways. We don't live in town, so I declined, and instead am opting to write this review. Perhaps the owners of the establishment will invest more in maintaining their equipment. Maybe they can put my $70 donation towards it?
Bowling alleys are one of those copy paste environments in America that seem to be the same everywhere you go. Here you’ll find one with some more local flavor though. It feels ancient, advertising ‘automatic scoring’ like it’s a novelty. There’s something incredibly endearing about this though, the charm lies in how very little has changed.
Visited around 11pm to close on Aug 18th 2023, games went well but at the end the older brunette haired lady working the counter started arguing with a group of bowlers who were black and calling them “Obama” and threatening them with, and I'm quoting her, “a 357 magnum with a silencer.” I got out as soon as I can and I will not be returning until she is fired. This is completely unacceptable behavior, especially from someone who has worked here since I was a child.
The staff was great. We had a family event and the staff was very nice. They were swift with helping and the food was awesome.
AVOID ‼This is a sun down town environment that just happens to also be a dated, subpar, and poorly serviced bowling alley. The two women on staff have the customer service level and personalities of paper thin drywall. We spent more time trying to get service on the broken lanes and switching lanes than actually bowling. Microagressions and blatant bias are the only things that are fully functioning here. Spend your money elsewhere. Edited to add: It's an odd, yet not surprising choice for the owners to lie and claim they gave us an extra hour. At the counter in conversation they claimed they gave us an extra fifteen minutes on the first malfunctioning lane. It took our group of consisting of one 40 year old and several 50-70 year olds seven to ten minutes to switch lanes, but I guess thats considered mingling and socializing. We didnt even stay past the twenty minutes it took for us to finish the remaining four frames. Clearly integrity and honesty is not a part of Wade Hampton Lanes values either, so again AVOID.
