I really enjoyed visiting it! loved the place and the art displayed! 100% recommeneded! The Walker Art Center in the Twin Cities has a diverse collection, and contemporary artistic expression. The visual arts and multimedia installations creates a captivating experience, making it a must-visit for art enthusiasts. The modern, architecturally striking building adds to the overall charm, providing a welcoming space for exploring the evolving world of contemporary art.
I recommend going on Thursdays after 5 pm, it’s free to the public at this time! This is a beautiful gallery with truly wonderful exhibits, diverse mediums, and stunning displays of art at the highest levels. It wasn’t too crowded. Pictures and videos are permitted. The staff was very polite and helpful. If you’re in downtown Minneapolis I strongly recommend this place on your “ to do list” list. A great way to inspire yourself and spend quality time with friends and family.
A must see when visiting the Twin Cities. We were helping out-of-town guests explore Minnesota and this was a stop we couldn’t skip. We had the perfect summer afternoon to enjoy the outdoor park.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
This is probably more reflective of my personal taste than anything else. I had more fun at the outdoor sculpture garden free then inside the museum. Although they have a strong collection with lots of big name modern artists. I really enjoyed the roof terrace and the mini-golf looked fun! The mini-golf was sold out but I still got to walk around and check out the artist pieces.
We went to the Free First Saturday 10am-3pm, and walked around and toured the building. We colored mandala designs on the first floor for a half hour then got bored. I am really interested in seeing the rest of the exhibits though, so I will try to get there earlier next month. Make sure you pay the meter because community police are really strict about parking. I suggest you download the flowbird app before you get there.
I was able to visit the Walker Art Center while at a conference. It's a very unique museum with abstract art and other art styles. This Saturday was appreciation day so admission was free.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entryFree
This was a uniquely transformative experience. I was attending the premiere of In The Same Tongue, which explores Black American dance, healing, community, and a range of urgent topics seen through the artistic lens. In a City that was the focal point of a national and international explosion after the murder of George Floyd, the Walker Art Center is still addressing the need for healing.
Lovely art museum. Well-curated, interactive art, sculptures, and classics. The building is beautiful and adds to the museum experience.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
The outdoor sculpture field was full of great modern art that was very interactive. I also enjoyed the flowers in bloom and the shade of the arbors. Inside, the Walker boasts many exhibits and also offers mini-golf and there is a cafe. The museum was cool, clean, and comfortable. No food or drinks allowed inside and you must check your bags into a locker. At the cafe, we ordered the hummus which was both beautifully presented and delicious. Pita bread was good too. The fried chicken pita entree was a flavor experience. It is worth trying. Delicious and different.
Pay for parking and walk over to the sculpture garden for free. Beautiful campus and can easily spend an hour walking through and seeing the exhibits. There's limited shade so don't go on a super hot day.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
