We are that lakeside spot where locals gather with old friends and to meet new ones. Walnut Beach Café is a great place to enjoy a family meal and a day at the beach. We have a large patio and an amazing view of Lake Erie from every table. Show up in your bathing suit and sandals, or drop in at lunch for a bite to eat and a freshly squeezed glass of lemonade.
At Walnut Beach there is something for everyone. There is swimming, sunbathing and beach volleyball, as well as a playground for children, a skate park and basketball courts for the older kids. There are pleanty of open areas to fly a kite and Walnut beach is a well known spot to sea glass collectors.

What an awesome place to go! Finished my race here on the beach and it was very clean and a safe place for everyone. There is a large parking lot, picnic area and bathrooms so you won't need to leave for anything. I wish I could have stayed longer to walk the area. If you are in the area take the time to stop down at the lake and check it out and see how clean it is!

Very beautiful park. The beach is clean with the exception of some very interesting pieces of driftwood that was intensionally left for aesthetics. They have a lot of fun playground equipment for the kiddies, picnic tables and a pavilion. They have a short but nice hiking trail surounded by bamboo and a wildlife preserve within the bluffs. It all depends on you but I'd say this beach has a lot of potential to help build lasting memories. I would recommend checking it out even if you only have a couple minutes to spare.

Clean park, free parking, kids had fun on playground equipment, benches and picnic tables available.  Boardwalk to water.  Pavilion has good variety on menu. Great place to spend the day!

Pleasant, clean and pretty quiet beach along the Erie shoreline in Ashtabula. Definitely didn't feel crowded when we went on a nice Sunday late morning, and my daughter had a ton of fun in the water.  Food at the on site cafe was also quite good, with sandwiches on fresh bread fat superior to standard beach snack bar faire. A relaxing good time overall.

I'd give it a 5...BUT water quality advisory is often up. It's sad that so many of Lake Erie's beachfront parks have poor water quality. That said, the bathrooms are clean, the garbage is removed fairly often and the views are great. There are no lifeguards on duty so you are swimming at your own risk.

Was my 1st time there looking for beach glass. Very nice. Found some beach glass. Can't wait to go again.

Okay so first time here and we absolutely loved it.  The people we came across were friendly and many locals shared stories.  Of course, we searched for the beach glass that washes up.  It was a lot of fun and the area was quite beautiful, no trash or debris.

It was a very cold day with strong winds. Those winds made great high waves.  Pretty clean beach for being off season.  It has two nice roofed pavilions.  It say food in Summer  but I have not had any here yet. Beach is massive and lots of sand.  There a beautiful native plant field, between the beach and parking.  Handicapped parking in parking lot. No wheelchair access into sand area at beach.  This is close to many nice places to eat within a mile and less. The Historic Ashtabula Harbor is a short walk or drive.  Picnic area: Picnic tables under a roof. Two structures with parking near them.

I once got a fossil from this beach. The amount of Zebra mussel shells are really showing the damage of the invasive specie, only gotten one native clam shell from this place. There's a lot of rocks here which can cause injury but Its fun to swim in though.

I love going there and watching the sunset or rise. I like how they have the actual Walnut Beach with park, playground, picnic tables, pavilions, grills, access to the beach, but then they also have the end that you can walk the breakwall, sit in your car and still be near enough to view the lake and everything beautiful that comes with it. You can fish, skip rocks, things like that without worrying about bothering a swimmer or sunbathers, but you can still get to the beach and access the water from there as well.
