We thought this place was going to be awesome. We got a seasonal spot. It's a nice park but no leadership and very poor communication. After getting set up we were informed by other campers that we could get a picnic table and fire provided by the campground. I went to the office/store and talked to the owner. He took my name, lot number and said he would have the table and fire provided by end of the week. Totally understandable as it was just the start of camping season and everyone was setting up. We left went back no ring and no table. A fellow camper said there were 2 on a site that was no longer needed. So we loaded it up and took it to my site. It still took 2 more weeks and multiple conversations to get the fire ring. Then memorial day the pool broke. Stuff breaks, I get it but no communication? It's going to be down until the end of June because of the pump? That's ridiculous!! On top of this we find out that the game room is being closed because kids are being disrespectful? If kids are misbehaving and tearing it up, why not find out who the parents are and handle it that way? Not close it for all the kids. That's like closing the freeway because a few people are speeding. Lol Anybody wanna buy a camper and seasonal spot?
Good place for family camping. We stayed in cabin first time, liked it so much we came back as permanent campers last two years. Even with all the covid restrictions, they have lots for the kids. Our new favorite place!
Walnut Grove has everything for everyone! Fishing enthusiasts to family fun. We loved our stay here! There were fun activities all weekend long for the kiddos and adults. Beautifully well kept sites and grounds. Felt right at home and welcomed by the staff and management: We are already planning our next stay there!
we camped for the first time here on memorial day weekend. we were giving a spot that was supposed to be a permanent spot for the weekend. we liked it so much we booked a reservation for july 4th weekend for the same spot. i called and the gentleman i spoke with said noone was going to be in that spot so we could reserve it again. july 1st came ,we went to check in and they said its a permanent spotand there was a portable deck and golf cart sitting there but no camper so needless to say we were told one thing and was made to take a spot that was far from what we wanted. the woman at the atore told me they like to book people then push them into another spot. when i told her that wasnt right she said they dont do that and i told her "you just said they did do that" she replied " in the beginning they did" so liar and bad business. i doubt we ever come back and from what ive read alot of people feel the same way.
We had so much fun here at the Christmas in July weekend, highly recommend this campground, lot 99
I would give ZERO if I could! To be honest, I've been in awe of how horrendously they operate their business. I paid $2,500 for a seasonal spot. I paid that much because I was told there would be an olympic sized pool, game room, camp store, fishing, and basketball court. The pool doesnt work, they close the game room for weekends at a time, hired a band then charged to listen to them, and only keep the store open a couple hours a day. We went to get fishing worms at 1:30pm on Memorial Day and the store was closed, so fishing was out too! The owners REFUSE to acknowledge anyone who reaches out with complaints. They are crooks and it's bad enough I've had to contact an attorney to get the $2,500 back!
These owners are clueless regarding camping. Called several times regarding our booked site and when we arrived we could not fit. The site we were moved to was so uneven. Took the 160.00 hit, due to the owners acting like they were hassled.... not.ruining my rig for your shifty camp ground.
My family and I are seasonal campers and we’ve had nothing but great experiences. Great bonding atmosphere and well-maintained property!
I give this place a five-star in hopes that they will have better bathrooms and the better canoe launch site everybody was very friendly, owners were great the pool was great the playgrounds were nice overall a very fun experience
New owners are horrible! We reserved two spots online a month prior to coming in. Before we arrived I called and asked what time would be best to check in. Ravi Desai said that our spots were not available, and that someone else came in and took them. I asked if there was any way he could at least squeeze us in on one site to share. He looked at the bookings and said there was a spot that would be able to fit my pop up and my parents 26' pull behind. I was a little frustrated, but kept my cool and was thankful to at least get a spot from Thursday until Sunday. Upon arrival, he told me that there were no spots available. I told him that I had just talked to him on the phone and he said he could squeeze us in onto a spot until Sunday. Ravi then said, "someone just came in and took your spot, they said they reserved it a year ago and they needed a spot to stay for the weekend." He went on to say that he "forgot" about our conversation and gave it to the others who came in before us. I told him he needed to make things right and find us a spot from Thursday to Sunday. He kept saying he was booked up and that there was nothing available. Finally we got into his vehicle and drove around to see if any spots were empty. We found one that was seasonal that my parents and I could share. He did say that he would have to send us to a different site on Saturday when the seasonal owners came in to camp. I was completely fine with that and said that as long as we could stay until Sunday, we would be cool with anything. Friday night came and Howard called me and said "thank you for your stay at Walnut Grove, checkout will be tomorrow Saturday at 1pm. I told him that he agreed that we would be able to stay until Sunday. I also reminded him that he said he would move us to a different location on Saturday. He said that someone came in and got the spot he was moving us to on Saturday. In the end, my family and I found another campgrounds to finish the weekend out in. DO NOT camp at Walnut grove, the new owner is a lier and a cheater. We did end up getting all our money back except $50 that he kept. I don't even care about the $50, its not worth fighting over. Worst owner ever, I doubt walnut grove will succeed if it continues with this management.
