Van Hage Garden Centre - Ware - is as good as a Sunday afternoon trip to any garden centre can get. It quite literally has everything to offer for young families all the way to the elderly. In short - you cannot go wrong if you fancy a trip out but the prices are steep - you can, and I repeat can get the items for sale else where for a much better price. In more detail - as soon as you’ll arrive you’ll notice the huge car park has room for multiple cars. There is a car washing firm for those willing to pay for car to be cleaned whilst you shop. There are toilets outside the entrance which are regularly cleaned - including a decent sized accessible toilet. There is also a doughnut stand, ice cream van extortionate prices in all honesty - who pays 50p for some sprinkles! - there is also a carrousel for the kiddos. When entering the centre you’ll be greeted with a customer services desk. During peek times this is staffed. Inside the centre you’ll discover so many different stores - selling clothes, toys, homeward and a huge selection of gifts. There is also a food market and cafe at the back of the centre. Personally, I love the selection of house plants for sale, complete with all the paraphernalia needed for any serious plant keeping. The house plants clearly come from a good supplier and are of high quality. They are cared for and look amazing - but as mentioned above - the average price for these plants is considerably higher than other places for similar sized plants. It could be you are paying for the high quality nature of the plants - however I cannot make out if this is the case or not. The garden centre is truly huge with a lot of outdoor plants for the garden also. There is a small pet shop, jacuzzi centre and even a miniature railroad and train outside. I believe there is a small petting zoo also however this has been closed since Covid times. Currently there is also a santas gotto also. The staff are friendly enough and always keen to help and even though it gets very busy, the queues for checkout are never too long. Van Hage also take their Christmas stock seriously with all manner of decorations for sale. It doesn’t even matter if you intend on buying a decoration or not either- it’s just pleasant to see all of the lights and models on display. If you are looking to get in the Christmas spirit, even Scrooge would be hard done by to not get in the mood.
Nice garden centre. Lots of choice. Friendly service. Great for kids. Train rides, merry-go-round and more. Love it there at Christmas time with the Santa's grotto pre-book. Can be pretty crowded, but it a great place, so no surprise there. Check it out.
Van Hages have outdone themselves this year with their Christmas displays. It was a real pleasure to explore them and they have some wonderful items. The Lemax miniature village was so good it tempted us for the first time to buy one! The cafe was well served and the coffee well made. Personally, everything I picked up was about 10% more than I wanted or expected to pay for it. So either I'm cheap, or there is a mark up. You would probably find most things slightly cheaper online, but without the lovely experience.
Lovely place to spend couple of peaceful hours. Good collection of indoor and outdoor plants. The staffs are amazing and love to help. Cafe is ok and few food and icecream vans outside. A small farm inside which is a plus with kids. Also, toy train journey is lovely little bonus and the kids love it.
Nice Garden center, massive.Don't go there if your on a budget as nearly everything is full price.Nice cafe, massive range of stock for everything in your garden and even has an ice cream van parked out front.Animal section was closed when i went sadly.
Lovely garden centre especially at Christmas when fantastic decorations are put on show. In there restaurant they sell great scones, other food is just mediocre.
As garden centres go, Van Hage's sets the bar and has everything you need, plus a whole lot more! The Christmas display this year is absolutely epic and won't disappoint The only drawback is the cost. Most items here will cost you anywhere from 20-50% more than other retailers, but you are paying for quality.
Van Hage Garden Centre is a great place to visit, but even more special near Christmas. Love it!
Nice place they have lots of different departments linked all selling different items also got a nice coffee shop they have a nice miniature railway tickets £1 well worth a go
It is massive, it is amazing.. it must be visited during Christmas time. You can't miss this place!!
