Horrible Place!! If you really care about your loved ones don't place them here! We put my Mother here after a month long stay at the hospital and we had to basically supervise her care as this staff is uncaring, unwilling and understaffed. Mom called in the middle of the night for our help because the ONE nurse on duty was no where to be found! When we called the facility and spoke to the nurse and told her Mom needed her she said and I quote.." I'm the ONLY nurse here and I only have one Aide and 30 patients..I can't be in her room 24/7!" Our Mother died Dec 26th as a direct result of this facilities inapt approach to healthcare. The Manager had made all sorts of promises of care for Mom but they were empty promises. The staff spends more time smoking outside then taking care of the sick and helpless patients. To be fare there were a select few employees who actually gave a dam but unfortunately they were the minority. Again TRUST ME, Please choose wisely when it comes to rehabilitation for your loved ones.
When it became time to admit that my father needed to be in a nursing facility Forest View was the only place I felt comfortable knowing he would receive quality care. Throughout the years my father has been in and out of rehabilitation in MANY different facilities. I can say that some of them horrified me and others were ok for short term but would not consider for long term. The first time he went to Forest view I was very impressed with the surroundings and the friendliness of the staff. They kept me well informed as to my father’s progression in his treatment. He is not the easiest person to get along with however; the staff always treated him with respect and kindness always. When it got to the point that he could no longer live on his own, this was the only place I knew that could handle his needs and personality. Everyone from nursing to cleaning staff do an outstanding job with him and I can't speak more highly of his social worker. They always keep me in the loop with all that is going on with him whether it is bad or good. The atmosphere does not feel like your average nursing facility, it feels more like an extended home. Everyone knows the patients name and will take the time to say "hello, how are you doing?" They respond the same way to family members. My father has been there for over two years now and it gives me great comfort to know that he is in a safe and nurturing environment.
I do not know about the care for your loved ones at kindred, but as for working at kindred... don't even bother applying. As a single mother with a 2 month old baby, I was seeking full time employment. I went to my interview, and spent a good chunk of time touring the facility, submitted a drug test, met different employees, filled out cori information, my ID was copied. I was offered 40 hours weekly, 9-5. I accepted, and the woman told me if the cori was fast I could start the following week. Then I got a phone call from her. She started the conversation asking me about my daughter, and informed me the cori check was still going through. I told her that was fine, and I understood. Then she told me an old employee who's resigned for a new job, did not like her new job and would like to come back. So she gave the position BACK to the other employee after offering me the position and telling me I could start as soon as the cori came through! I'm assuming she asked about my daughter just to butter me up, which is wrong. I've worked in the medical field since age 16, and I've never experienced this amount of unprofessionalism just in the hiring process alone! Don't apply here; don't waste your time.
I went there last week to visit a possible move for my sister and I walked into a very clean place looked totally 100% better where my sister was at that moment. I moved her into and everyone was very helpful and also the dresser my sister had didnt make the trip so they actually had an extra so no need to get her a replacement because they replaced it. Also the room she is in was spotless and also while walking down the hall way, we noticed the floors were getting waxed. Where my sister was again I dont even think they swept Giving it a try and I will repost in a few months
Terribly understaffed, my wife is staying there! most of staff is kind and cordial but grossly underpaid, the weekday receptionist is rude and insulting, both in person and on the phone! She has to understand that people are already saddened by going to visit their loved ones and her rudeness is making things worse!!! Some respect is warranted in her job when dealing with friends and loved ones staying there!!
I would like to say that my cousin{. Christine } has been here for 4 month and all i can say is the staff is very kind and professioal nurse Jennifer Levine and nurse al price was top notch in my book my cousin also had the best cna i have ever encountered Shelly barbosa was kind an loving to my cousin she treated her like she was family .. again and you very much from the ST.Lauren family . August 2016 until January 2017
The director is absolutely demeaning. When I met her she acted extremely unprofessional and talked to me as if she was so much better than me. Very very rude lady and unacceptable. They all play phones all day. Very sick
The staff is amazing, they hold everything together. Management not so much. Not a very clean place. I opened a cabinet under the sink and It was all black and crusted. Hope they renovate. They need more staff and better management.
An ambulance respondes faster then the nursing staff. The staff here is uselesss and spends more time yapping then dealing with patients needs. I can tell you that I have waited for over an hour for someone to respond to call button light.
This facility doesn’t even deserve one star! But in order to leave a review you must rate. Please do your research through the states web site! If I could help it this facility would be shut down! Staff and administration is disgraceful and does not care about the patients. I lost a loved one due to neglect from their staff! PLEASE stay far away!!
