Founded in September 2015, the Warriors' Accounting Society is a student-led organization at Texas A & M - Central Texas (TAMUCT) for students with an Accounting major or minor. Warriors' Accounting Society is a student organization whose focus is to enhance members' collegiate experience by creating professional development and social opportunities. Becoming a member of the Warriors' Accounting Society is a great opportunity to network, get to know other Accounting students, and meet professionals in the field of Accounting.

Constitution and Bylaws of
Warriors’ Accounting Society

Article I. Statement of Purpose
Section 1. The Warriors’ Accounting Society at Texas A&M University – Central Texas is a student organization whose focus is to enhance members’ collegiate experience by creating relevant, professional development and social opportunities.

Article II. Membership
Section 1. The minimum requirements for membership in the Warriors’ Accounting Society at Texas A&M University – Central Texas are:
Be in good standing at Texas A&M University – Central Texas.

Be pursuing an accounting major or minor.

Pay the organizational dues.

Maintain a minimum 2.0 institutional GPA.

Complete probationary semester.

Section 2. Membership will be open to students regardless of race, national origin, creed, political affiliation, sex, religion, age, handicap, or veteran status.

Section 3. Members are expected to conduct themselves with the highest standard of professionalism at all times. In the event that a member brings discredit upon the Warriors’ Accounting Society, he or she will be subject to disciplinary actions by the Board of Directors, to include possible revocation of membership.

Article III. Board of Directors
Section 1. The Board of Directors shall consist of the President, Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Programs, Vice President of Records, and a faculty advisor serving as an ex officio member.

Section 2. The members of the Board of Directors are elected or re-elected at the end of each semester for the following semester.

Section 3. The Board of Directors shall be elected by secret ballot by the members present at the election meeting designated in advance for such purpose by the board. Positions with only one nominee may be elected by acclamation.

Section 4. All officers will attend all necessary training and fulfill the responsibilities of their respective offices. Failure to do so may lead to removal from office by majority vote of the Board of Directors.

Article IV. Duties of Board of Directors
Section 1. The President will:

Serve as the chairperson of the board of the Warriors’ Accounting Society.

Call and preside over board and general meetings.

Ensure the Warriors’ Accounting Society maintains its status as a recognized student organization on Texas A&M University – Central Texas.

Serve as the Risk Management Officer.

Delegate signature responsibility at his/her discretion.

Arrange for guest speakers for our general meetings.

Assist other members of the board in accomplishing organizational objectives.

Attend board meetings.

Section 2. The Vice President of Finance will:

Deposit and maintain all funds in an account on behalf of the organization.

Collect of all organizational dues paid by members.

Assist with all fundraising events or appoint a member of the club to be in attendance to collect all proceeds from each fundraising event.

Make all necessary expenditures when authorized by the Board of Directors.

Prepare and maintain all financial records, and submit a written financial report to the Board of Directors at each board meeting.

Complete all necessary financial reports for tax and campus reporting.

Assist other members of the board in accomplishing organizational objectives.

Attend board meetings.

Section 3. The Vice President of Programs will:

Develop, recommend, and implement programs for the Warriors’ Accounting Society.

Promote the activities of the Warriors’ Accounting Society.

Maintain the organization’s various media and networking accounts, to include OrgSync.

Be familiar with all university rules and regulations pertaining to student organization efforts.

Assist other members of the board in accomplishing organizational objectives.

Attend board meetings.

Section 4. The Vice President of Records will:

Keep and prepare all of the Society’s records, except financial records.

Record minutes from each meeting and prepare a written report to be posted on the organization’s web site.

Provide a student membership application to all potential student.

Confirm eligibility for membership for all applicants.

Assist other members of the board in accomplishing organizational objectives.

Attend board meetings.

Section 5. The faculty advisor will:

Be a full-time employee at Texas A&M University – Central Texas.

Serve for at least two years in the position.

Aid and advise the group on matters under consideration.

Oversee all votes as necessary.

Article V. Governance
Section 1. The Board of Directors is responsible for all operational decisions of the organization, except designated in the bylaws.

Section 2. The Board of Directors is responsible for all disciplinary actions.

Article VI. Committees
Section 1. The organization will have no standing committees.

Section 2. The Board of Directors may appoint ad hoc committees as deemed necessary.

Article VII. Meetings
Section 1. The organization will meet regularly throughout the fall and spring semesters.

Section 2. The location, and times of meetings will be determined by the Board of Directors. Notice of all meetings shall be posted or sent in writing to all members not less than five days in advance.

Article VIII. Bylaws and Amendment
Section 1. The constitution, together with the bylaws, shall be the operating basis of the society.

Section 2. The constitution and the bylaws may be amended by a majority vote of the members present at a meeting designated for such purpose.

Section 3. The Board of Directors will review the Constitution and Bylaws each semester to ensure that it is in keeping with the needs and activities of the Warriors’ Accounting Society.

Section 4. Any member in good standing may recommend amendments to the Constitution and Bylaws to the Board of Directors.
