Clean, comfortable room that was attended to every day. Staff were super nice & quick to resolve issues. Rooms were a bit small, but comparable to the DC area. The only downside was that the food at all locations in the hotel was wildly expensive for the quality even for the DC area. Would recommend for food there are many better places within easy walking distance. Safety: Seemed to be in a decent area of the city. Walkability: Many delicious surrounding restaurants just a few blocks away.
Came in for a convention, beautiful lobby and very convenient food. location felt super safe and close bus ride over to the Washington Mall area. Unfortunately parking is very over priced in this area. On to the room: The room was very small and dated, not what I expected at a Hilton. The real shocker was how dusty the room was. A layer over everything and huge amounts under the table next to the beds. I had to clean my room after entering. The bathroom has mold in the corner of the shower..definitely needs to be cleaned. house keeping was super on top of trash and towels but these rooms need a good whole once over. The Pub: Average price for what you find in a hotel restaurant. Service was ify but room came fast. I had a complimentary free drink from a door key not working first night. I used it here however my cocktail had the flavor of tequila but definitely not enough to be considered a drink. like a hint but barely..just was disappointed. The food was good and would definitely order again, just skip drinks.
as a gold member, I hoped for more. This is a fine hotel if you are expecting a 2 star hotel facility and price. The lobby is gorgeous but the rooms are old, extremely small and don't even have basic features like a mini fridge or microwave. This was an issue for us, as we were there for 5 nights and couldn't keep food and beverages cold. I reached out to the front desk to get a mini fridge, but was told they were out. My friends that are not rewards members had them complimentary in their rooms on lower floors. We received a complimentary upgrade to 10th floor and it was not a nice room. A broken bathroom mirror light, broken curtain rods, and jammed up doors, in addition to the small, cramped space without basic amenities. If you find a great deal on price to stay here, it'll do the job. It's a decent location, the staff was mostly nice and helpful and the pool is nice on a weekday. If you are paying full price and expecting a consistent Hilton experience, find somewhere else. I have stayed at Hilton Garden Inn's 10x nicer than this. Overall, nothing would make me want to stay here again, especially considering how many other options I have. Safety: I never felt unsafe. There is a large security presence, if that is unsettling, be aware.
Clean comfortable room that did come with a mini fridge. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The buffet breakfast was good. After a beautiful ten mile hike there were a lot of eating establishments near the hotel.Rooms: 5/5
Does not appear this property has been updated since maybe 1990. Horrible rooms. Apparently I have a sewage line that goes directly through my bathroom. Gurgles all night very distracting to say the least. Tiny tiny bathrooms. Great staff very friendly. But keep your expectations low as far as your room. Bath would not drain. Had to take a shower with water up to my ankles. Lights did not work in the bathroom. Coffee maker, malfunctioned. Still use satellite TV. It is just old.
The service at the Washington Hilton hotel was great. We stayed at this hotel as a tango performance group, and we were well received by the receptionist who also gave us some bottled water. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The beds were great to sleep in and the room temperature was wonderful and it could also be changed manually. There were also facilities like conference rooms, a gym, and other amenities. I would like to mention Manuel from the bar who was very nice and the manager Chamath, who was splendid and stepped in to help serve us all. He was very kind professional and friendly--thank you very much Chamath.
Hopefully this was just a one-off, but on Saturday night at 9pm, we waited on line for 37 minutes just to check in!! There was just one person at the desk 2 at the Priority desk. After finally getting to our room, we were disappointed to find that the pool had already closed for the day. So, we turned on the TV - only to discover no connection. The front desk told us that our wing of the hotel had no service and that they were working on it. It wasn’t fixed during our stay. No sooner did we go to bed than our ‘neighbors’ arrived home. You would’ve thought they were in our room! The door between what could be adjoining rooms must be hollow because we could hear every word they said. I needn’t have bothered setting my alarm because at 6:15 am sharp, they were up, so I was too. The bathroom door is heavy and in order to close it, you need a lot of strength to drag it across carpeting. All in all, it was not a good stay for us. The bed and pillows were comfortable but if we can’t get a good night’s sleep on them, what do they matter? Rooms: No refrigerator. Room safe in closet. Magnifying make-up mirror on bathroom counter. Iron and ironing board. Food & drinks: Plenty of restaurants located on the lobby level.
Room was nice. Hotel cleaning service was very timely and thorough. Bell staff was attentive. Elevators were a little challenged to keep up with demand to the concourse and parking levels during a large gaming convention. Rooms: House keeping staff was great. Safety: Very safe and engaging bell staff at check-in. Walking distance to some great food and felt safe.
This was the worst experience ever at hotel. Firstly, they rat infested. As I was sitting in the lobby area waiting for my room as part of a conference, we saw multiple mice scurrying around. My colleagues and I went outside instead to sit in the courtyard, and mice were even more active. Of course I didn’t eat at this place as the mice were going into the kitchen . Advised the staff and they didn’t seem to concern….say indicated that they may have come in from the outside duhhh. I’m deciding whether to post the videos…In regard to the rooms, very dated decor and very small rooms. Hence, the value is not there for the money. The walls are also very thin…could hear calm conversations next door so didn’t rest much. BTW, There are much better options nearby. In fact, I checked out early to go to another hotel. I’ll never stay at the Washington Hilton again!
Very small room double and bathroom. I had never seen a bathroom before where the toilet is tucked under the counter. There also was no fan in the bathroom which is one of my biggest pet peeves with hotels because it makes it impossible to take a shower and get ready without it being 100 degrees in the bathroom. The walls are VERY thin and you can hear everyone talking, laughing and coughing through the vents. Hotel food was very overpriced. It’s in a walkable area and I never felt unsafe but it was far from the downtown core/tourist attractions. We figured out the metro train and bus system so that definitely helped. Kramers bookstore is about a 1/2 mile away and they had good food that was cheaper than the hotel. Overall it was fine for a business trip but I wouldn’t pay to stay here for a vacation.
