Working to collect, preserve, and provide access to records giving a vital account of public government in Washington State.
The mission of the Washington State Archives is to centralize the archives of the state of Washington, to make them available for reference and scholarship, and to ensure their proper preservation. We collect records to ensure transparent government, preserve evidence of civic and property rights, promote history, and protect them from damage or disaster.
