Washington University in St. Louis China Care is an independent, student run club dedicated to improving the lives of Chinese orphans as well as introducing Chinese culture to the community's Chinese children.
WashU China Care focuses on fundraising for medical surgeries for disadvantaged Chinese orphans in China as well as raising awareness about the issues they face.
We also have two mentorship programs for local adopted Chinese children, Dumplings Playgroup and Big Sister, Little Sister Program, which allow adoptees to learn about Chinese culture as well as build friendships with other adoptees and college-age mentors.
In the summer, a group of volunteers travel to Beijing to volunteer in the China Care Home, a healing home that provides care and nurture to orphans before and after surgery.
Our mission is to fundraise for Chinese orphans in a variety of ways– whether this is through funding a child’s education or supporting a foster family with 3-5 children. We seek to aid these children by hosting a variety of fundraisers. We also seek to bring awareness to the current orphan situation in China.
