Description

Friend of the Court Duties:

When parents cannot agree, or when directed by the judge, to conduct investigations and make reports and recommendations to the court regarding:
Custody
Parenting time (which may include transportation)
Amount of child support (including medical support and/or spousal support)
To offer mediation, when both parents agree to participate, as an optional way of settling disagreements over custody or parenting time of children.
To collect, record, and send out all support payments as ordered by the court.
To provide enforcement services on all custody, parenting time, and support orders entered by the court.

I was told to schedule an appointment. I called a week ago to schedule, no answer, so I left a voicemail. I haven’t received a call back. Every time I call no answers and I just get the voicemail. I guess I have to drive 30 minutes just to schedule an appointment. What’s the point of having the option to schedule over the phone if no one will actually call back or answer.
Constantly ignored. No matter how many times I’ve written, sent photos, went to hearings, file motions, made police reports etc. the professionals only hear and recommend what they want to while disregarding the main point. Not every case is the same and I felt treated this way. Just seems like I’m given an automatic response.
I am really surprised about all of the one star reviews. While the process to get what was awarded to me in divorce/custody order has been extremely taxing, the two women that I have spoken with in the office have always responded to me same day/next day via email or phone call, and have gone above and beyond helping me. When I have sent an email regarding my case in the general FOC section, I have always received an adequate reply within a couple/few days
The people that work here must have no repercussions for any wrongdoing. For the same hearing, I’ve had my date scheduled incorrectly and the zoom ID written down wrong. They send you on a goose chase every time you’re in there and they’re rude and dismissive for every second of it
Would love to know why for years they wouldn't make my son's father pay child support. They told me his Social Security income excluded him from paying child support but his father adopted a child and is paying child support and he's still getting social security, makes no since at all
Pretty annoyed with this place I went in because the father of my son was ready for visits or so he acted like he was or him mom took the time to make him fill out the packet to serve me papers anyways it costed me a little over 3,000 dollars we made it to the friend of the court after constant cancelings due to the father going to jail or having a warrant our mediator left and I never got notified I had to walk in there to see what the deal was child support was never set up I went in and gave them every piece of information they asked for took time off of work and everything finally met the new mediator whom father has not yet and I felt like I got asked a million questions thinking in my head for what I’m missing work for this shouldn’t he be here getting asked I’m the one raising our son why in the world am I missing work for this child support finally gets set up and since father never sent in his pay info they came up with a number themselves 79$ dollars a month which I have yet to see a dime for sure this is all about the kids and this is a free program but the way I see it they just waste your time and the adult that doesn’t do anything gets away with doing nothing I’m really irritated with the system they have going on here. And cannot believe my son has yet to have one visit with his dad and it’s been a year now I literally feel like I have gone through so much all because a “father” filed a paper
I have been dealing with these people since my ex husband & I got divorced. The “mediator” has ALWAYS been one sided, which a mediator’s job by definition is to guide parties through a dispute to reach a favorable agreement. Mediators do not judge who is right or wrong in a dispute, nor do they provide legal advice; rather, they facilitate communication between parties that might otherwise have a difficult time exploring the problem themselves. This mediator judged, gave her own opinions in a dispute of parenting time between my ex & I! The attorney that I hired told me that this court is known to be backwards & most attornies do not even want to deal with them! The mediator’s name is Eugenia Patrue! If you have her as a mediator, make sure to get an attorney! She is not a fair person! She takes sides!!
Literally my own worst nightmare, I'd rather stick a fork in my own eye than have to deal with these people as often as i have to. I just want to get info on my child support, i want to modify my case so that im not borderline homeless at all times meanwhile these people cant even figure out how to call somebody back much less effectively deal with peoples child support cases. I have been trying for FIVE YEARS to get solid answers from these people and all i get is the run around and not returned voicemails. This is the epitome of our government right here, this is why over 40,000 men kill themselves each year over child support...
Always a pain. Staff is rude and not interested in helping you. They lock the door early so they can go home on time. They also have "3 days too call you back" and take every minute of that time too do so. They mailed time sensitive papers too the wrong house even though I filled the paperwork out to change address, and then blamed me for it of course. They reprinted the paperwork, and it said it was "mailed to the correct address" to cya. The list goes on...
This place will screw the father over don't have kids
