Awful. I barely give bad reviews, but as a food critic I had too. The food was terrible, I have every reason to believe the reviews on here are fake. The appetizers were burnt... and I mean black. Octopus was rubbery and no flavor. So we had hoped the entrees would make up for it, especially since we told them we couldn't eat the apps bc of how burnt it was. We barely touched our entrees as well. Bland, sauce was like water. The truffle pastas "cream sauce" was watery. The short ribs pasta as well, and the honey jerk salmon was overcooked! 17 dollars for drinks that sucked , 400 dollar dinner bill and not one thing was enjoyable. Only good thing about this place was the DJ. Very disappointing, especially since they didn't even try to accommodate when we told them about the apps and they could clearly see we barely touched the food.
Love this plade.. Upscale decor and ambiance. The place to be , when you want to be in "The place to be"... food is amazing ... Menu offers such a variety. You won't be disappointed. Staff is very attentive and make you feel like you beling. Salute' to FRANK AND JOE.. Best of everything hereFood: 5/5
This place was GREAT! Food atmosphere staff..I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE!Food: 5/5
Great experience. Service was on point. Food was exceptional. Ambience was perfect. Will definitely be back. Recommend the bacon appetizer. Easily the best lobster rolls in Staten Island.Food: 5/5
Went for lunch. Lobster roll, hamburger, and the cinnamon dessert. Do Not miss the dessert! Loved it and will return. Parking: Large parking area. Wheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible.
Absolutely amazing! The place is beautiful and the food is delicious. I love that you get a lot of food as well for the price. Delicious high quality selection of wines and great service. We tried several appetizers, entrees, and desserts, everything was delicious. Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
First time, first impression was not wowed. The appetizer is generic cheddar chips with dip. The dishes are aggravating large but hollow, so it looks like you get a lot but you don’t. Hamburger with two pieces of toast for buns is an interesting choice. Very pricey and confusing for an “upscale type” restaurant. Service is also very slow.
Made a reservation for 8 people for Mothers Day. Not one bad thing to mention! Food was amazing, ambiance as well. Our server Gabi was so nice and helpful. Everything was on point. I highly recommend the Chilean sea bass, truly to die for. Definitely give this place a try!
I can't express how amazing this experience was. Food, drinks and atmosphere were on point. We tried half of the menu and everything they brought out kept getting better and better. Will be returning ASAP! Also their party room is stunning. Planning a bridal shower here just to be able to use that room.Food: 5/5
Excellent! This place really has it all! We went with a large group for Father’s Day and 286 South did not disappoint! The service was amazing, our table was ready and waiting for us at our reservation time, no standing around and waiting. Plus #1! The ambiance was comfortable, no high noise level and comfortable seats. We weren’t squished together like so many other places do. Plus #2! Our server was excellent, he started us with our drinks, then he pointed out his favorites on the menu. He told us what was popular and made some really good suggestions. Plus #3! Now… on to the food! Apps were first rate! We started with a few apps to share. Believe me, I wish we could have gotten them all! We had the candied bacon, the Philly dumplings and baked clams! Everything was delicious. For dinner, everyone had something different, but there certainly was a lot of share tasting going on. I had the braised short ribs over cornbread stuffing, it was phenomenal! I see this quickly becoming one of their signature dishes. My wife had the Agnolotti Pesto Rosso with Sundried Tomato, Italian Sausage, Burrata, Cipollini Onions. Of course I stuck my fork in for a taste… it was dynamite! Others in our party had the filet mignon, the ribeye, the sea bass and linguini with clams. No one had any negative thing to say, all aces across the board! It was so great… we’re going again tonight!
