About

The Official Facebook page for the Watertown Historical Society

Description

The goal of the Watertown Historical Society has always been to preserve our local history—our schools, industries, and families.

Our ever-growing collection of documents and artifacts depicts the town's expansion in all districts, including Oakville, Guernseytown, Winnemaug, Linkfield, etc., and is available for free public viewing,

We try to respond to all queries - from around the corner and around the country. Besides manuscripts, books, and artifacts we have digital files of the Town Times newspaper from 1947 to 2000 as well as Watertown High School yearbooks, which are available online through our website. We also have a fine selection of Connecticut state and local histories, and a wide genealogy area.

We urge you to visit, or arrange for one of our members to visit with local schools or clubs. The society is eager to enlarge membership and active participation.

The museum collection is temporarily going into storage until a new home can be found. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Please note that the Watertown Historical Society is not affiliated with the Watertown Historic District. We are an independent nonprofit organization.
